(Bump) God Answers Prayer!

A girl named Alice who has been following our story closely got the call a few hours ago that she's going to be getting a new set of lungs (double lung transplant). This could be what we call a "dry run", meaning she could arrive, be prepped for surgery and then be told that the lungs aren't quite the perfect fit for her. Dry runs are hard to deal with, but I'm praying that she wakes up tomorrow with a brand new breath!

Please, take just a few minutes to visit Alice's Blog, maybe post a comment for her, and pray with me all day long today (the surgery typically lasts for 7-9 hours) as she is scheduled for 8:30am EST!

Alice's sister will be updating her blog to let us know what goes down.

Alice just left a comment under This Post:

I GOT MY CALL!!!!!!!!!!! WAITING TO FLY IN A FEW HOURS TIME!!!!!! THE PRAYER HELPED!!!!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!!!

Thank you for praying for Alice and all the others who are waiting for a transplant!!!

Holding you in my thoughts and prayers Alice. May it all go perfectly.

Prayers for peace and healing sent for the donor's family as well! What a wonderful gift they've given in their time of sorrow.

AMAZING, Thank you God.
In the time that I have been following this blog, I've become closer to God. I'm learning to pray, accepting and wanting to find a church that I can belong to. God is working miracles through the Lawrenson family.
All the best, always.

Thank you, Lord!
I just went to Alice's blog, and found a recent comment, saying she was having blood work done, and the surgery is scheduled for 1530 South African time. If I used the Internet time zone converter correctly, that puts her surgery at approx 8:30 AM Eastern Time here in the US. OK, folks....let's pray her through this thing!!!!

Remember to not only pray for Alice and her family, but the donor's family as well. They must be going through a difficult time and are carrying out their family member's wish to donate organs.

Praise God for Alice's chance.
Praise God for this donor family
Prayer to God for the doctors that will be performing the procedures on both the donor and Alice.
Prayer to God for the donor's family. Pray that they find comfort and peace in their time of sorrow knowing that a little peace of their family is going to be living.

God does answer prayer. Praise God! I'll be praying for Alice today.

This brings up a great point. God answers every prayer. Sometimes He says, "yes". Sometimes He says, "no". Sometimes He says, "wait". Wait is the hardest because often God, in his sovereignty, is orchestrating what we can't see. He sees the big picture and we see what is in front of our nose.

Praying today for Alice, her medical team, and the donor's family.

For Tricia today:

5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. 6 I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me. Psalm 13

Wonderful news for Alice!

This leads me to a question. What happens IF someone get's a donor and it isn't a perfect match? What happends to the organ at that point? Is there sometimes time for another recipient to be found, prepped and ready to recieve?

Awesome, I just checked in a few minutes ago(8:37 am here in MI) and was thrilled to be given the opportunity to pray for Alice!

I have really been blessed to get to step out of my little world and to pray for people I may never meet here on earth, but will get to dance and rejoice with in Heaven someday!

Hi,
My friend e-mailed me the link to your blog because I have an almost 5 year old daughter named Gwyneth Rose and with it being such an uncommon name she thought I would be interested. Your daughter is beautiful and we are praying for her and your lovely wife. My cousin has CF and had a baby girl named Faith. She is also waiting for a double lung transplant. You will never fully realize what an amazing example you all are to the rest of us. I am so privileged to be able to even pray for you three. Many blessings.

I have so very little in common with you and what your family has gone through. I never wanted to be a mother and when I got pregnant in 2006 I was SHOCKED to say the least. Wasn't sure what God was doing - (letting me know he's in charge and not me). I had some blood pressure complications that had my doctor and my family all worried. I was never bothered by it because I knew that I pregnant because God wanted it and things would just work out okay - just as he planned. Not the same situation but I feel the same for you and Tricia and Gwenyth. All things are going to work out for ya'll - it will follow God's plan. I believe that blessings will continue to shower down on the three of you!

Someone asked what happens if it isn't a "match" ... now I could be wrong, but I think that they might notice the 2nd on the list saying that they have the organ but someone is slated to get it. BUT they should go to the hospital just in case that it doesn't match.

I'm not sure that is how it works, but I believe that I read that somewhere.
