TX Update (7:43pm)

We've learned that the transplant team is flying out of state to examine the lungs and donor. We may not find out for sure if it's a go for a few hours, and the surgery would not take place until at least early tomorrow morning.

They are getting Tricia ready. She has already given about 15 vials of blood and has had an EKG.

Please, also be thinking about and praying for the donor's family. Even if this isn't Tricia's match, somebody has died today willing to give the gift of life, for which we are always thankful.

I'll update again when I learn more.

Nate

I'll be praying throughout the night, for you all, the medical teams--and the donor family; that God would give them comfort and peace.

Nate & Tricia -
Hi guys! It's now 12:40 AM and I'm just unable to sleep as I await updates on your blog! Yes, I have to be up at 6:00 AM for work, but like I said, I can't sleep. So, as I sit here at my computer at this very late hour, I find myself reading through some of your previous posts and the more I read, the more I see how God has revealed himself to you and ALL of us in HIS perfect timing.

Please go back and read my earlier comment from 9:21 PM. I commented how the song lyrics ("The Blessing") can also be viewed in a different light ..... from the perspective of the donor. Check out the original comment I left at 9:21 PM.

So, now FAST FORWARD to present time. 12:40 AM and I'm going through old posts from you, re-reading some of them. And, then I decided to check out your Dad's blog. (By the way, I LOVE that he has his bags packed and ready for the "word" to jump in car and head to DUKE!) Okay, and then I come across the old post he published on "how to pray for the donor's family" and I decided to read it. Yeah, I've probably read it 5 times before, but for some reason, I decided to read it again. So, I'm reading along and then I came to this one particular line that your Dad wrote. And, it hit me how much it related to the song lyrics you posted earlier this morning! Here is the sentence that really hit home for me. This is part of what your Dad wrote about how to pray for the donor's family.

"Thank God for that person's family, who will endure the grief of loss, and that they will see the "blessing" of their loved one's "life" continuing through their donation."

The BLESSING of their loved one's LIFE!!!

WOW!

So cool how your Dad wrote those words on February 1st and how you posted those song lyrics this morning ("The Blessing") and then, later in the day, you got THE CALL.

Still up and PRAYING for Tricia's BLESSING!!!
