Surgery successful

A brief update (this is Nathan's dad Rick)...
We were notified at 6:30 that the surgery was complete and just had a conversation with the surgeon. It was a difficult surgery due to the extent of Tricia's disease, but she is now in ICU and we should be able to see her soon.

Nate will update later.

So awesome!! I check this blog from work and was literally bouncing up and down in my chair with excitement at all I had missed overnight. I would have liked to jump around and dance but I didn't want to scare off my co-workers!

Thank you, Jesus, for this gift to Tricia, Nate and their entire family. Please continue to be with each of them. Lord, at this time we also think of the donor's family. Gather them in your arms and comfort them as they grieve their loved ones death. I pray that they will know the gift of Your peace through the gift of life that was made. I pray for a special hedge of protection to be placed around these families, that they will heal and remain strong in You. Amen.

Praying for Tricia and your family. Also remembering that with someone's death this was made possible. May God be with that family and that they know that they have saved a precious friend, sister, mother and wife.

Oh that [men] would praise the LORD [for] his goodness, and [for] his wonderful works to the children of men!... Whoso [is] wise, and will observe these [things], even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.

Check out Psalm 107, its too long to quote here in its entirety but so applicable to our frail existence and to God's mercy on us when we cry to Him for help. Praise Him for hearing prayer for Tricia and Gwyneth!

What a wonderful time of the year to receive new lungs--she'll be able to taste fresh spring air soon!

After checking this blog all night from the hospital where I work, I went down to our March of Dimes craft sale and auction to pull up a photo of Gwyneth onscreen for all to see---and there was the post-op announcement!

I hope the donor family is comforted by the prayers and encouraged by the rejoicing on this site. I hope somehow they know.

Such a miracle....again.
