Song Selection

I need some help finding the perfect song for Gwyneth's one year birthday video, and since you all have been such a big help in picking out a few other songs, I thought I'd ask for your suggestions. I promise I won't make fun of any suggestions...unless they're really funny.

Click Here to watch past videos and get an idea for the music I have already used.

Thanks!

Nate

I'm used Dixie Chicks "Lullaby" for my son's power point show for his first birthday. Of course the sound didn't work, but I digress.

I think you said you don't like country though so go easy if you rib my suggestion ;)

  4. My baby by Britney Spears

    From Britney Spears's new album,
    Circus)
    Tiny hands.
    Yes, that's you.
    And all you show,
    It's simply true.
    I smell your breathe,
    it makes me cry.
    I wonder how,
    I've lived my life.

    [Chorus]
    Cause without you,
    How did I get through,
    All of my days,
    Without you?
    Now living with you,
    See everything's true,
    My Baby, it's you.
    My baby.
    My baby,
    My baby.

    With no words at all,
    So tiny and small.
    In love I fall,
    So deep.
    So deep.

    My precious love,
    Sent from above.
    My baby boo,
    God I thank you.
    God I thank you.

    [Chorus 2x]

  13. Dar Williams - The One Who Knows

Time it was I had a dream
And you're that dream come true.
If I had the world to give
I'd give it all to you.
I'll take you to the mountains,
I will take you to the sea.
I'll show you how this life became a miracle to me.

You'll fly away, but take my hand until that day.
So when they ask how far love goes
When my job's done you'll be the one who knows.

All the things you treasure most
    will be the hardest won.
I will watch you struggle long
    before the answers come.
But I won't make it harder,
I'll be there to cheer you on.
I'll shine the light that guides you down
    The road you're walking on.

You'll fly away, but take my hand until that day.
So when they ask how far love goes
When my job's done you'll be the one who knows.

Before the mountains call to you,
    before you leave this home,
Wanna teach your heart to trust
As I will teach my own.
But sometimes I will ask the moon
Where it shined upon you last
And shake my head and laugh and say
It all went by so fast.

You'll fly away, but take my hand until that day.
So when they ask how far love goes
When my job's done you'll be the one who knows.

  19. There is a song called Sometime Miracles Hide by Bruce Carroll. Here are the words:

    Sometimes Miracles Hide

    Bruce Carroll

    They were so excited
    It was coming to be
    Two people so in love
Now soon there would be three

For Many years they'd planned it
Now it would soon be true
So she was picking out the pink clothes
and he was looking at the blue

    The call came unexpected
    The doctor had bad news
Some tests came back and things weren't right
He said, "You're gonna have to choose"

"I'll wait a week for your decision"
Then the words cut like a knife
"I'm sure everyone will understand if you want to end its life"

    Thought they were badly shaken
    They had just one choice
They knew God creates no accidents
and they were sure they heard His voice saying,

    (chorus)
    Sometimes miracles hide
God will wrap some blessings in disguise
You may have to wait this lifetime
To see the reasons with your eyes
    'Cause sometimes miracles hide

It seemed before they knew it
    The appointed day arrived
    With eager apprehension
    They could barely hold inside

The first time they laid eyes on her
    Confirmed the doctor's fears
But they held on to God's promises
'Cause they were sure they both could hear

    (chorus)

Though she was not like the other girls
They thought she was the best
And though all the years of struggle
    Neither whispered one regret.

On the first day that she started school
And took her first bus ride
They remembered the words that God had spoke
And they both broke down and cried

See to them it just did not matter
Why some things in life take place
They just knew the joy they felt
When they looked into her face

    They learned sometimes miracles hide
They said, "God wrapped our blessing in disguise"
We may have to wait this lifetime
To see the reasons in our eyes
But we know sometimes miracles hide.

  27. Are you familiar with "Little Miss Magic"? by Jimmy Buffett

Sometimes I catch her dreaming and wonder where that little mind
    meanders
Is she strolling along the shore or cruising or the broad savanna
I know someday she learn to make up her own runs
I know someday she's gonna learn how to fly
    Oh that I won't deny

I catch a little more dialog coming my way
I see those big brown eyes just start to looking astray
Your mother's still the only other woman for me
    Little miss magic
    what you gonna be

  33. I like "Happy Birthday Beautiful" by The Innocence Mission.

When you wake up sun will shine.
We will not go under any cloud.
Let balloons go up in town,
    ring out every bell.

    Happy birthday, beautiful,
all the birds of this day
sing a song, sing a song.

    Dream of trains carrying you
through the state parks with the cherry flowers.
When you wake up it will be
    the beginning of the world.

    Happy birthday, beautiful,
in the fields of this day
hear a song, hear a song.

    Oh, undeserved sweetness and light,
    stay by my side.
We will go out in the morning now,
a crown of maple leaves, a crown of flowers
    circling your sweet head.

    Happy birthday, beautiful,
in the streets of this day
play a song, play a song.

    It's something like:
    Tiny Hands, Gentle Eyes
    Fingers and Toes
    Every Part, Set Apart
    To bring Him Glory

By the Lord, for the Lord
    You were Created
    You were Created
    to Show forth His name
By the Lord, for the Lord
    You were created
to bring Him honor and praise.

  40. I hope you dance. (either by LeeAnn Womack, which is a country version, or by Ronan Keating, which is not country)

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give fate the fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

    I hope you dance
    I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances but they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

    I hope you dance
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always)
    I hope you dance
    (Rolling us along)
    I hope you dance
(Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder)
    I hope you dance
    (Where those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small when you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith the fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

    Dance
    I hope you dance
    I hope you dance
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always)
    I hope you dance
    (Rolling us along)
    I hope you dance
(Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder)
    I hope you dance
    (Where those years have gone)
(Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder)
    I hope you dance
    (Where those years have gone)

  45. She's got a smile that it seems to me
    Reminds me of childhood memories
    Where everything
Was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that special place
And if I'd stare too long
I'd probably break down and cry

    Sweet child o' mine
    Sweet love of mine

She's got eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I'd hate to look into those eyes
And see an ounce of pain
Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place
Where as a child I'd hide
    And pray for the thunder
    And the rain
    To quietly pass me by

    Sweet child o' mine
    Sweet love of mine

    Where do we go
    Where do we go now
    Where do we go
    Sweet child o' mine

  46. Here are the lyrics if you are unfamiliar.

Who can turn the world on with her smile?
Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?
Well it's you girl, and you should know it
With each glance and every little movement you show it

Love is all around, no need to waste it
You can have a town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're gonna make it after all

How will you make it on your own?
This world is awfully big, girl this time you're all alone
But it's time you started living
It's time you let someone else do some giving

Love is all around, no need to waste it
You can have a town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're gonna make it after all

    like a sleepy blue ocean
    You fill up my senses
    Come fill me again

    NEVER LOSES HER MIND
ALL AROUND HER COULD CRUMBLE, TUMBLE
    AND SHE’D BE JUST FINE

    SHE’S BEAUITFUL, AIN’T SHE

    AND I COME ALIVE

CAUSE SHE’S ONE IN A MILLION BABY
    SHE’S ONE OF A KIND
AN ANGEL SENT FROM GOD TO SAVE ME
    AIN’T SHE, AIN’T SHE
    AND SHE’S MINE

    SHE’S FABULOUS AIN’T SHE
    JUST LOOK AT HER GO
    EVERYDAY’S A NEW JOURNEY
    SHE’S LEARNING
    AS I WATCH HER GROW

CAUSE SHE’S ONE IN A MILLION BABY
    SHE’S ONE OF A KIND
AN ANGEL SENT FROM GOD TO SAVE ME
    AIN’T SHE, AIN’T SHE
    AND SHE’S MINE

AND I PRAY THAT SHE WILL NEVER LOSE THAT GLOW, OH
CAUSE EVERYDAY THAT I’M AROUND HER LETS ME KNOW, OH

It must have been so strange
To all at once be traveling a journey
All the way to the delivery room

But baby, you are not alone
No, your room is ready, let's go home
    You're gonna like it here
Let me make it clear that

    We've been waiting for you
    We're so glad you came
    We've been looking forward
    To showing you the place
There's so much in store and
    We've been waiting for you.
    I know it can take
    Some getting used to
    But this old world is
    Where you're meant to be......."

Another one that's special - we had it sung by a 4 yr old boy at our daughter's dedication - "You're Something Special" by the Gaithers - it's an oldie but cute:

    "You're something special
You're the only one of your kind.
God gave you a body and a bright healthy mind
He had a special purpose that He wanted you to find
So He made you something special
    He made you something special
    He made you something special
You're the only one of your kind."

    Father and Daughter Lyrics
Artist(Band):Paul Simon Review The Song (38) Print the Lyrics

Send "Father and Daughter" Ringtones to Cell

    If you leap awake
In the mirror of a bad dream
And for a fraction of a second
You can't remember where you are
    Just open your window
    And follow your memory upstream
To the meadow in the mountain
Where we counted every falling star

I believe the light that shines on you
    Will shine on you forever
    And though I can't guarantee
There's nothing scary hiding under your bed
    I’m gonna stand guard
Like a postcard of a Golden Retriever
And never leave till I leave you
With a sweet dream in your head

    I'm gonna watch you shine
    Gonna watch you grow
    Gonna paint a sign
    So you'll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
Who loved his daughter more than I love you

    Trust your intuition
    It's just like going fishing
    You cast your line
And hope you'll get a bite
But you don't need to waste your time
    Worrying about the market place
Try to help the human race
Struggling to survive its harshest night

    I'm gonna watch you shine
    Gonna watch you grow
    Gonna paint a sign
    So you'll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
Who loved his daughter more than I love you

    I'm gonna watch you shine
    Gonna watch you grow
    Gonna paint a sign
    So you'll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
Who loved his daughter more than I love you"

Or the bluest that Ive ever seen
    Anyway youll be blessed

    And you, youll be blessed
    Youll have the best

May the sunlight find your face
Even when the rain does fall
And get back on your feet again
Every time you slip and fall
    Keep your heart wide open
    And always taking in
    And even when it's broken
Be strong enough to fix it up again
    Oh little baby girl
    Sweet little baby girl
I wish I could hold your hand in this great big world
    Oh little baby girl
And I hope your hands are steady
And never need to make a fist
And I hope that when you're ready
You get one never ending kiss
And I hope that deep inside of you
    There's a sweet eternal song
And I hope the words are pretty
And that you'll always sing along
And I hope your friends are many
    And your laughter's always loud
To help you when you're lonely
And pick you up when you're down
I hope your eyes shine bright love
And learn to see the light
    Take the time to listen

It Won't Be Like This For Long" by Darius Rucker

He didnt have to wake up
    He’d been up all nite
    Lay’n there in bed listen’n
To his new born baby cry
He makes a pot of coffee
He splashes water on his face
His wife gives him a kiss and says
    It gonna be OK

It wont be like this for long
One day soon we’ll look back laugh’n
At the week we brought her home
This phase is gonna fly by
    So baby just hold on
It wont be like this for long

Four years later bout four thirty
    She’s crawling in there bed
And when he drops her off at preschool
    She’s clinging to his leg
The teacher peels her off of him
He says what can I do
She says now dont you worry
This will only last a week or two

It wont be like this for long
One day soon we’ll drop her off
And she wont even know your gone
This phase is gonna fly by
If you can just hold on
It wont be like this for long

    Soon she’ll be a teenager
And at times you’ll think she hates him
Then he’ll walk her down the isle
    And he’ll raise her vale
But right now she up and cry’n
And the truth is that he dont mind
As he kisses her good night
    And she says her prayers

He lays down there beside her
Till her eyes are finally closed
And just watch’n her it breaks his heart
    Cause he already knows
It wont be like this for long
One day soon that little girl is gonna be
    All grown up and gone
Yeah this phase is gonna fly by
    He’s try’n to hold on
It wont be like this for long
It wont be like this for long.

The song was a dream is a wish your heart makes. I also made a cute framed little deal with the lyrics on it. She is now 13 and it still hangs on her wall. She claims it will never go down.

So I have journaled with all three of my blessings lives with the oldest beomg 13. I know I suggested prior to making your own song for her, so I thought I would take little bits of stuff that I have journaled thru the years and you are more than welcomed to use them.

Nothing in the world can match the true joy of seeing your sweet baby girl look into the eyes of her daddy.
The Lord is preparing you for a trusting relationshiop with Him through your daddy here here on earth.

If you could see inside my heart this is what it looks like. I can not imagine anthing I could ever do on earth that would mean more to me than being your parent.

God is so good! I used to think I wanted a son- Just look at the great tresure he had waiting for me to receive. Oh how I praise the Lord for the precious gift in you.

All my family wants to see How sweet God’s miracles can be.

We never knew what true love ment till we were blessed with the cry of our child/children for the first time..

I love that I got to hold you near me for 9 mo. and did not have to share you with the world.

You are my beautiful sweet sweet song of praise to the Lord.

If you are the only child that the Lord gave to me I would filled to the brim with joy and never for one moment feel that I was missing a thing.

I look into your sweet eyes and I see the whole wide world waiting for you.

Probably TMI but who knows, with your talent I am sure you could make just about anything work.

It's called "Never Be One Again".

    Here are the lyrics.

Drift off and dream in your paper-doll world.
Play with the presents from the boys and the girls.
You big day is over. The cake is all gone.
We sang you to sleep with the birthday song.

No. you'll never be one again.
The two's are tumbling on in.
Daddy's little girl is growing up in the world.
    You'll never be one again.

The toy piano is quiet in the hall as Kermie the frog sits watching it all.
And soon your legs will and make the tricycle go and take you away from us all.

No. you'll never be one again.
The two's are tumbling on in.
Daddy's little girl is growing up in the world.
    You'll never be one again.

    Goodnight, Baby.
    Goodnight, Daddy.

    She Sees Angels

    I've seen this before
So I turned out the light
    And walked across the room
The wind played its song through the trees in the yard
The shadows were chased by the moon
I stood in the doorway and I let out a sigh
And watched the small little girl
who was there in the moonlight
Tossing her head in a whirl

And she sees angels dancing in the sky
She sees angels in the night

    Do they whisper sweet words,
Do they sing her a song.
Do they light up her eyes with the stars
Do they touch her soft skin as she sleeps late at night
Does she even know who they are
Floating in air they perform their ballet
    Lifting their praise to above
For sweet little girls bathed in heavenly light
Learning the ways of God's love.

And she sees angels dancing in the sky
She sees angels in the night

Love Grabs You by Avner for Gwyneth

    What does it mean
    Cause it seems
    When you fall in love
    Losin all control
    And you don’t know
    What to do
    When it’s true
    You fall in love
    And every direction
    Points one way
    One way
When love grabs a hold of you tight
I’ll be stayin all night to just to know it’s real
    I’ll be holding you tight
    Till the sun shines
    Light on us again
    How does it feel
    When it’s real
    When you fall in love
Can’t get you off my mind
    And know i know
    How to be
    When you see
    When you fall in love
    Every direction points
    One way
    One way
When love grabs a hold of you tight
I’ll be staying all night just to know it’s real
    I’ll be holding you tight
    Until the sun shines
    Light on us again

...and Because You Live by Jesse McCartney for Tricia

Staring out at the rain with a heavy heart
It's the end of the world in my mind
Then your voice pulls me back like a wake up call
I've been looking for the answer
    Somewhere
I couldn't see that it was right there
But now I know what I didn't know

    Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
    Because you live, girl
My world has twice as many stars in the sky

    It's alright, I survived, I'm alive again
Cuz of you, made it through every storm
What is life, what's the use if you're killing time
I'm so glad I found an angel
    Someone
Who was there when all my hopes fell
I wanna fly, looking in your eyes

    Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
    Because you live, girl
My world has twice as many stars in the sky
    Because you live, I live

Because you live there's a reason why
I carry on when I lose the fight
I want to give what you've given me always

    Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
    Because you live, girl
My world has twice as many stars in the sky

    Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
    Because you live, girl
My world has everything I need to survive

Because you live, I live, I live

And if you want it a bit more fun I would go with Cyndi Laupers "Girls Wanna have fun" or "Sweet Child O' mine".

  144. There's a beautiful Christian song from a father to his child/children about hoping that his love will give them roots and help them find their wings. It talks about all the things that he wants God to do in their lives and his hopes for them. It's "Find Your Wings" by Mark Harris. I included it in a slideshow for my Kindergarteners graduation and had all the moms, and some of the dads and grandparents, tearing up. I also included a couple others already mentioned. "Let Them Be Little" by Billy Dean which talks about the child fitting in the palm of their Daddy's hand. How fitting is that for your baby girl, especially? :) And "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack is perfect.
I think in your case, "Miracle" by Celine Dionne would be great, too.
    Hope these help.
BTW I watched all your other videos. They were perfect.

  150. Here's the lyrics for Natalie Merchant's 'Wonder' if you don't know them already!

    'Doctors have come
    from distant cities
    just to see me
    stand over my bed
    disbelieving what they're seeing

they say I must be one of the wonders
    of God's own creation
and as far as they see they can offer
    no explanation

    newspapers ask
    intimate questions
    want confessions
    they reach into my head
    to steal the glory
    of my story

they say I must be one of the wonders
    of God's own creation
and as far as they see they can offer
    no explanation

    I believe
    fate smiled and destiny
laughed as she came to my cradle
"know this child will be able"
laughed as my body she lifted
"know this child will be gifted
    with love, with patience
    and with faith
    she'll make her way"

    people see me
    I'm a challenge
    to your balance
    I'm over your heads
    how I confound you
    and astound you
to know I must be one of the wonders
    of God's own creation
and as far as you see you can offer me
    no explanation

    I believe
    fate smiled and destiny
laughed as she came to my cradle
"know this child will be able"
laughed as she came to my mother
"know this child will not suffer"
laughed as my body she lifted
"know this child will be gifted
    with love, with patience
    and with faith
    she'll make her way"

  152. I know many bautiful songs, but what about this one: So incredible - Ilse de Lange. It's a dutch singer, but the lyrics are in English.

I have more suggestions but I don't know if I can say them also?

There is one in Dutch, it's called Dochters (Daughters) and it's from Marco Borsato. It's about daughters, who grow up, but always stay "little" in the eyes of a father. I can translate the lyrisc if you want to? (You can put a reaction under a post on my blog if you want to)

  153. I don't know if this one has been suggested yet, but "These are the Days" by Natalie Merchant is a great song. Here are the lyrics:

    THESE ARE DAYS
    these are days you'll remember

never before and never since, I promise
will the whole world be warm as this
and as you feel it, you'll know it's true
THAT YOU ARE BLESSED and lucky
it's true, THAT YOU ARE TOUCHED BY SOMETHING
THAT WILL GROW AND BLOOM IN YOU

    these are days you'll remember

when May is rushing over you with desire
TO BE PART OF THE MIRACLES you see in every hour
you'll know it's true, that you are blessed and lucky
it's true, that you are touched by something
that will grow and bloom in you

    these are the days
that you might fill with laughter
    until you break

these days you might feel a shaft of light
make its way across your face
    and when you do
you'll know how it was meant to be
see the signs and know their meaning

you'll know how it was meant to be
    hear the signs and
    know they're speaking to you
    to you

  156. Let's see...I am trying to think of some that may go well with a video.

"Brighter Days" by Leeland for the NICU pictures. I think it would set the perfect mood for trusting God to bring brighter days. Here are the lyrics:

    Time keeps moving on
Through the sunshine and the storm
And my dreams are set in stone
And someday I’ll be who I want to be
    For now I’ll wait
For the sun to shine again
    And for now I’ll wait
For the rain to pass away

And I’m looking for the brighter days
When all my hurts seem to fade away
I’m looking for the brighter days to come my way

    Faces come and faces go
But none seem to look my way
And walls have stood and walls have fallen
But my heart seems to wait
For now I’ll sit at the end of the road
    And for now I’ll wait
At the end of the pathway

I’ll see the sun one day shine upon me
I’ll see the sun one day
And watch the nighttime turn to morning
But for now it all comes back around

  166. Hi
My suggestion is 'For Rosanna' by Chris De Burgh. These are the lyrics...

This is for rosanna, sweet girl of mine,
A song for the baby who changed my life,
Ill never forget when I saw you first,
I thought that my heart would burst,
With the love that I have.

As I watch you sleeping in here tonight,
And I hear your breathing so soft and light,
I cannot believe all the things that I feel,
When I hold you next to me,
Its the love that I have.

Oh how my heart it is shining,
Oh how my heart it is shining,
Oh how my heart is shining through,
With the love that I have.

And as you are growing from baby to child,
I share the wonders that are in your eyes,
And I am amazed at the way you change,
    All according to the plan,
And the love that I have.

And when you are older you will go away,
Youll see injustice and youll see pain,
But never forget that Im always there,
Like a shadow by your side,
With the love that I have.

Oh my love, you have your mothers eyes,
And when I see you laugh, you have your mothers smile,
And you are mine all of my life,
You are mine, all of my love,
You are mine, blood of my blood,
    You are mine.

Oh how my heart it is shining,
Oh how my heart it is shining,
Oh how my heart it is shining through,
With the love that I have.

I love this song so much!
Happy 1st Birthday Gwyneth Rose xx

  167. Another idea for if you wanted a Christian song. This is a favourite of our girls in Girls' Brigade.
'Indescribable' by Chris Tomlin. It is a beautiful song.

From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
    Creation's revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
    All exclaiming

    Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
    You are amazing God
    All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
    You are amazing God

Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
    None can fathom

    Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name
    You are amazing God
    All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
    You are amazing God
    You are amazing God

    Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
    You are amazing God
    All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
    You are amazing God
    Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
    You are amazing God
    Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same
    You are amazing God
    You are amazing God

  172. god

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you

    [Chorus:]
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
    You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

    [Chorus]

    Now I'm just rolling home
    Into my lover's arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you.

Good night my angel time to close you eyes
And save these questions for another day
I think I know what you've been asking me
I think you know what I've been trying to say

I promised I would never leave you
    And you should always know
    Where ever you may go
    No matter where you are
I never will be far away

Good night my angel now it's time to sleep
And still so many things I want to say
Remember all the songs you sang for me
When we went sailing on an emerald bay

And like a boat out on the ocean
    I'm rocking you to sleep
    The water's dark and deep
    Inside this ancient heart
You'll always be a part of me

Or... "Baby, Baby" by Amy Grant, for something more upbeat...

Off topic, but I think this is a good time to share what I think is the song the most depicts you and Tricia... "Go There With You" by SCC... couldn't be more perfect. But then again, aren't we ALL "standing on the edge of the unknown"... we just don't know it yet!

    Here are the lyrics...

    The morning cold and raining,
dark before the dawn could come
    How long in twilight waiting
    longing for the rising sun
    ohoh ohoh Oh ooh

    You came like crashing thunder
breaking through these walls of stone
You came with wide eyed wonder
    into all this great unknown
    ohoh ohoh Ohoooh Oohh

Hush now don't you be afraid
I promise you I'll always stay
I'll never be that far away
    I'm right here with you

    [Chorus]
You're so amazing you shine like the stars
You're so amazing the beauty you are
You came blazing right into my heart
    You're so amazing you are...
    You are

    You came from heaven shining
Breath of God still flows from fresh on you
    The beating heart inside me
Crumbled at this one so new
    ohoh ohoh Oooh ooohhh

No matter where or how far you wander
For a thousand years or longer
I will always be there for you
    Right here with you

    [Chorus]
You're so amazing you shine like the stars

You're so amazing the beauty you are
You came blazing right into my heart
    You're so amazing you are...

I hope your tears are few and fast
I hope your dreams come true at last
I hope you find love that goes on and on and on and on and on
I hope you wish on every star
I hope you never fall too far
I hope this world can see how wonderful you are

    [Chorus]
You're so amazing you shine like the stars
You're so amazing the beauty you are
You came blazing right into my heart
    You're so amazing...

You're so amazing you shine like the stars
You're so amazing the beauty you are
You came blazing right into my heart

~Love Never Fails~ by Brandon Heath
    Here are the lyrics...
Lyrics to Love Never Fails :
    Love is not proud
    Love does not boast
    Love after all
    Matters the most

    Love does not run
    Love does not hide
    Love does not keep
    Locked inside

Love is the river that flows through
    Love never fails you

    Love will sustain
    Love will provide
    Love will not cease
    At the end of time

    Love will protect
    Love always hopes
    Love still believes
    When you don’t

Love is the arms that are holding you
    Love never fails you

When my heart won’t make a sound
When I can’t turn back around
When the sky is falling down
    Nothing is greater than this
    Greater than this

    Love is right here
    Love is alive
    Love is the way
    The truth the life

Love is the river than flows through
Love is the arms that are holding you
Love is the place you will fly to
    Love never fails you

Whatever you pick I know is gonna be beautiful!
