At least, that's what Tricia says it's for...she LOVES the Zoo (even our very small and "under renovation" Zoo in Norfolk), so, of course, she would decide on a whim (and on the hottest day ever in the history of April) to want to go to the Zoo while we were in VA earlier this week. Because I'm such an awesome husband and father, I obliged. Gwyneth really couldn't care less about anything but the monkeys (who came up to the glass window), but it was still fun!

yes, I'm the first to comment!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow!! I cant believe Im making the top 20 commenters list for YOUR blog!!!
ReplyDeleteCute cute pics!!
We just got baqck from the zoo in atlanta and I must agree with G..The monkeys totally rock =)
Let's introduce her to Philly Zoo.Even smaller and cannot renovate because it has no where to expand since it is in mid city. Also had to ship out it's elephants. But it is the oldest in USA and you can get a mean Philly cheese steak there most any day.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Love the zoo!!! We went last weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the great photos. We were there last year for the first time on our way to the Outter Banks. We loved it!!! Great way to start a vacation.
ReplyDeleteFrom a NJ NaNa
Hey... don't complain too much about those hot temps... I live in Idaho, and it snowed yesterday morning!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOk, I can't tell, is that a reflection of you guys CHASING a peacock?
ReplyDeletelol.
Who hasn't been to the zoo on one of the hottest days of the year? I think it's part of the experience.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great day. Loved the pictures.
ReplyDelete@snickie
ReplyDeleteThat is our reflection, and that is a peacock, but we're not chasing him...the peacock was enjoying the shade in front of the door to the snake room, so we decided to take a few pictures before scooting him out of the way. Growing up, we had a peacock in that lived in our neighborhood...I know better than to chase after large birds.
We love the zoo too! Wish there was a good one here but sadly there isn't. The Memphis Zoo rocks though and St Louis also! We don't even have a hippo at the zoo here in Knoxville :( That is my favorite animal to watch :) Glad you were so obliging to your girls!
ReplyDeleteLove the zoo! Well, any zoo really.
ReplyDeleteMy question is:
ReplyDeleteWho is taking the peacock picture? Because from the reflection it looks like nobody is!!! :)
Quick question for the uninformed such as myself-
ReplyDeleteCan Tricia wear the baby carrier, or does is put too much pressure on her lungs? I don't remember every seeing a picture of her wearing it. (But I totally could be wrong!!)
T.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteTricia does use the carrier, but only when it doesn't involve a long length of time or a lot of energy (such as taking a walk).
Now you know someone is going to have something to say about you two letting Gwyneth ride a rhino...LOL
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! I'm with Tricia -I love the Zoo - I even made my husband take me to the San Diego Zoo while we were on our honeymoon.
Our CF Walk next weekend is at the Austin Zoo...though I hear it's just a glorified petting zoo. I'll take some pictures for ya'll!
ReplyDeleteWe love going to the zoo.One of our neighbors once asked if that was where our family lived because when ever he asked where we were going it was the zoo.In Ohio there are 6 zooz near each other including Erie PA.
ReplyDeleteI hope your family enjoys zoos as much as we do.
I LOVE the zoo! Looks like fun and makes me look forward to going there myself. What a fun trip for the family!
ReplyDelete~Kate
So glad to see Tricia is feeling better! Looks like so much fun at the zoo!
ReplyDeleteWhy doesn't Gwyneth ever wear shoes?
ReplyDeletewow, you yourself got the first comment!! YES!!!
ReplyDeleteZoo's are so much fun. Cincinnati has a wonderful Zoo and Botanical Center! We went on Easter Sunday to take flower pics.
Your pictures are great!! Gwyneth is getting so big!!
We went to this zoo last year on our trip to Va. Beach. Although small its nice..our zoo here in Buffalo is small and seriously need renovated.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all enjoyed the day!
If you are ever in Pittsburgh, be sure to visit their zoo then! It is the best I've ever been too (not that I've been to a ton), and all of the animals have great habitats and are active. We went last summer, and I can't wait to go back!
ReplyDeleteOh Tricia, you are a mom after my own heart!! I've decided that even when my kids refuse to go with me, I'm going to have an individual membership for the zoo. I'm in awe every time I go (which is a lot because we live two miles away)! Can't get enough.
ReplyDeleteLove Gwyneth's toes through the holes in the picnic table. Where's the picture of daddy under the table taking that shot?
That's the zoo I visit too!! I recognized so much in these shots...
ReplyDeleteFirst, Nate..you don't count as first commenter. Good try though! ;)
ReplyDeleteSecond, I did see on the news that you guys were in the 90's! Holy Cow! Glad you had fun even though the photo of you two squinting in the sun made my eyes water and brought on a huge headache. I love the sun, it does not love me. However, the Son does love me and I love Him. Just had to clarify that.
Thanks for answering my question Nate! I forgot to add, it looks like you all had fun at the zoo!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your wife and daughter with the networld!
T.
One Giraffe said to his buddy "Hey man, I think that is the dude from the blog my wife goes on and on about!" "I think so too, man" said the other "look cool maybe he'll take our picture and put it on his blog! That'll win some points with the wife!"
ReplyDeleteLOVE zoos, too!
ReplyDeleteBarbara
The zoo is so fun... we did a drive through zoo and took a couple hundred pics my kids still watch over and over on DVD.

well, Tricia needs to visit the Columbus (Ohio) zoo, dubbed one of the very best in the USA!
ReplyDeleteWe were SO at the zoo on...what was it...Monday? Yes, right after Ladybug was done testing at CHKD! It was ridiculously hot, I agree...but the kids sure had fun (I'm included in that ;) )
ReplyDeleteWOW Tricia looks so healthy!!!! I am so glad you had fun!
ReplyDeleteCan I ask? Why does it matter if the baby is in shoes or not? Studies (to get all technical) show that putting babies in shoes before they are walking can damage their feet, ALSO, learning to walk with out shoes is better for them:)
ReplyDeleteCute cute pictures! I LOVED the zoo when I was little, hey, I guess I still love the zoo :) Looks like you guys had a great time
ReplyDeleteit was a wonderful day to get the girls out to see a little nature ,sounds like a fun fill family day
ReplyDeleteWhat fun!
ReplyDeleteThe zoo is awesome!
Nothing to do with the zoo...but I just have to say, as I watch Tricias' hair grow back, I absolutly love the length it is now. Not everyone can wear their hair that short, but she sure can!
ReplyDeletemeercats are the best
ReplyDeleteGwyneth lives at the beach...why should she ever wear shoes?
ReplyDeleteGwyneth lives at the beach...why should she ever wear shoes?
ReplyDeleteYou have some great shots, i especially love the one of the lion.
ReplyDeleteYou have to come to Edinburgh Zoo. We have penguins and we're the only zoo in the UK that has koalas.
ReplyDeleteWe did have to send our giraffes to Germany though...
I SO did not know giraffes could lay down... see, I learn more from you all the time... ;)
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love Gwyneth's little hat. I need to take my kids to the zoo... I love it.
ReplyDeleteTrisha looks great! Hope she is feeling better.
-Patty
i love all the pics you guys post but theres something about the 5th pic down of Gwyneth, her expression is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteToday my family and I went to a zoo in Miami (Parrot Jungle) and I was already thinking of you guys when I saw a HUGE sign that read GREAT STRIDES! There were sooo many people there supporting the cure for CF! I prayed for you guys!
ReplyDeleteCute photos!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! I loved seeing Tricia's silly side!
