November 1 Update

Tricia has had a few rough weeks.  Her breathing is continuing to become more difficult.  She had had a consistent low grade fever.  Yesterday she had her portacath replaced because it may have been infected, and sure enough she woke up today without a fever.  Her lung infection remains but doesn't seem to be getting any worse.

Her doctors explained to us yesterday that they want her to add a few more pounds and continue to build her strength up before listing her for a transplant.  She is getting nearly 100% of her calories from her feeding tube now.  Her docs emphasize how critical a position Tricia is in...how close to dying she is right now.  We continue to covet your prayers.

Nate

  15. Your family is beautiful. I've been following you since the beginning and because I live fairly close (an hour and a half) I feel as if we're neighbors. I do not believe it's Tricia's time to leave her baby girl and the love of her life. Paryers flow for you all.

  53. That's great news about the portacath. I really hope that now that she's fever free she will feel better and be able to put on some weight. I know Tricia's health is probably fragile and you need to be careful, but perhaps there might be some high calorie foods you can tube feed. Maybe some melted Haagen-Daaz? I'm not a crazy person, my daughter has had many health "issues" and has been tube fed her whole life, 6 years. Half-and-half also works wonders for putting on weight quickly. Perhaps check with her doctors. Feel free to e-mail me at ainsleyblog@comcast.net if you have any questions. I have prayed that Tricia can get healthy enough to be put onto the transplant list very soon.
