Tricia is back in her room safe and sound. She's a little sleepy from the light sedatives, but everything went well and she does not have any pain right now. It will be interesting to see her without the port.
Gwyneth Rose is doing better than she was yesterday. Her distention is gone and she has not desated in the past 20 hours. I did find out yesterday (not sure why they didn't tell me this up front...) that she'll be in contact isolation for 4 weeks as she'll need four negative test results. This is a bummer because it means I won't be able to touch her skin to skin (including Kangaroo Care) until then...I can hold her in a blanket, which hopefully I'll be able to do soon.
Here's Tricia with one of her gifts (one of those Hallmark stuffed talking/moving toys that she told me she had to have...):

Glad the procedure went well. Happy Valentines Day guys!!

We're still praying. Glad to hear that so far that you are without pain Tricia!
ReplyDeleteWhen you posted about praying for donor families we did. It was something we had never really thought about before. Little did we know that we were praying for our friends. On Sunday morning a friend's mom passed away suddenly from a brain aneurysm. This week her kids were told that 6 of her organs have been (so far successfully) transplanted into people who desperately needed them. In the heart-wrenching pain that they are experiencing they have said that "it is good" to know that her death hasn't been wasted. Thanks for encouraging us to pray for donor families, I wouldn't have been praying for them already otherwise.
In His arms,
Corinne
Happy Valentines Day to you both. Her smile in these pictures are great!!!
ReplyDeleteTricia,
ReplyDeleteYou look so beautiful and so healthy in those pictures!! I pray that God will continue to strengthen you and prepare your body for the transplant..
Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!!
Yeah!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad that everything went well and I'll continue to pray that Trisha does not experience any pain. So glad to hear that Gwyneth is doing better today! Bummer about the contact isolation but at least you can hold her in a blanket! Let's hope that happens soon!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful can one beautiful woman's smile get. You do not know me, but I am from N.C. My family are also avid lovers of the Outer Banks. I am not quite sure how I found this site, but very glad I did. I know this life you have together, has been one tremendous hurtle, but one I know that the Lord has complete control over. You 3 are a total inpiration to so many, me included. Have a wonderful Valentines Day. I am praying for you, Nate, Tricia and Gwenyth. Rest well.

ReplyDeleteI am SO happy to hear that Tricia's portacath was removed successfully and that she's without pain. God continues to bless! YAY! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the disappointing news that Gwyneth will be on contact isolation for a longer period of time. I pray you're still able to hold her soon with a blanket and that that will be a special time between now and the next time you can do "kangaroo care."
Lots of Love!
