Congrats to you and your family! Taking our guy home from the NICU was so special. We loved going wireless! It made diaper changing so much easier :). Thank you for sharing your journey.
Welcome "Home"...it's got to be an awesome feeling! I have been thinking of you all so often. Praying that your transition to "home" goes smoothly, and that your Mom's surgery went well.

SHE'S HOME, SHE'S HOME, SHE'S HOME!!! Tears of joy in my eyes, Mommy and Daddy. Can only imagine how you two feel. Congratulations. What an incredible day.
Isn't that the best moment/feeling in the world? To finally be home with your preemie certainly is amazing!! My niece came home last February 7th (after 10 weeks in the NICU) and I took the day off just for the big event! Love that you & Tricia are home with your beautiful white rose!

Congratulations! From one parent of a preemie to another, I know what a joy it is to finally bring a healthy baby home! Enjoy!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! My 3 year old son is very excited that Gwyneth is out of the "hopspital". He always asks if he can see "pichures of the kayute bebee". We are all praying that you will have a smooth transition and can get to OBX soon!

Oh my, GOD is so GOOD!! The past 18 weeks have been amazing and I can see God's handiwork in all of it!! Thank you so much for sharing your lives with all of us. To God be the Glory!!
I am so happy for you guys! I know bringing my babies home for the first time was totally nerve-racking, so hopefully things are going smoothly for you. I also remember once we were home and got everything inside the house, we just kind of stared at each other and said, "Now what?" Much love and prayers to you and your precious family!
Ohhhhh, now the fun starts! I bet you two will fight over who changes those poopy diapers and who gets up for those middle-of-the-night feedings. Little Gwyneth will just have the two of you at her beck-and-call, just the way it should be! I bet her nurses will be missing her. :)
Congratulations, I can't believe how far you've all come!
Welcome home, little Gwyneth Rose! You both are so lucky to have Grandma to help you out with the baby! Treasure your sleep now, while Grandma is there to care for the princess! I know that was definitely the hardest part for me when we brought our new babies home, the lack of sleep! I was a walking zombie for months as I wasn't as fortunate as you to have help close by. So glad to hear that Miss Gwyneth is finally well enough to be home!! We have been praying for this day to come for a long long time! Just wonderful news!!!!
Oh my goodness!! I've been waiting for this picture. I am so excited for all of you. Isn't God absolutely amazing? My daughter's been following your story with me. She's out of town and will be so excited when she returns to see that Gwyneth is home where she belongs. Enjoy every second.
Hip Hip Hooray for Gwyneth!!!!!!! This is a wonderful day for all three of you. Thank you for taking us all on this journey with you. You have changed my life.
So amazing! I know you will be even more excited to leave Duram all together and get back to the OBX to all of your family and your "real" home!
I am so excited for you three! My little Arwen was a NICU baby, but we were only there for 10 days. They were 10 very long, very stressful days, but I can NOT even begin to imagine the 18 weeks of NICU...WHEW!!! Much love & Luck to you three! DOn't stop blogging ok! We love ya'll! I am go glad God has blessed you so abundantly! BTW, I loved that slide show and I have put the Sinead Lohan CD on my top list of wants! I just love that song! Kisses! ~Bev
I have watched your Tricia thrive and your little Rose blossom during the weeks since she was born, and I have all the faith in the world that you will be amazed at how wonderfully she will be growing from now especially given the progress in the last 4 weeks...The past 18 weeks will soon be a distant memory...A challenge it was...but you have a brilliant future for proving to be such a strong and stubborn family. Enjoy every second, you deserve that.
What a happy happy day! I am rejoicing and praising God with you. I leave tomorrow to go visit my daughter we are fighting for in Guatemala. She will be one on Sunday...... I will be checking for new pictures from Guatemala!
How incredible? This is now the beginning of a new chapter of yours and Tricia life! Having your little girl at home will bring you more joy then you could have ever imagined!
That's great news! I didn't respond about your wife coming home and doing so well. God is really working in your family. I know you are happy to have your girls home with you. My daughter is almost 11 months old and I can remember coming home from the hospital with her, think what do we do with her. Enjoy every day, she will grow up so fast then you will look back saying. I don't remember her being little.
Oh Wow! Those pictures say it all. Many blessings! Gwyneth looks so 'right' swaddled in a pink blanket, in your arms, against a backdrop that is NOT a hospital. Welcome home wee one. You are going to have such fun!
Congratulations. I found your site a couple of months ago and look forward to reading about your family daily. I have kept you in my prayers and have looked forward to this day for you. My eyes are full of tears as I can only imagine what it must be like to have her home with you finally. Enjoy each moment with her. Thank you for allowing all of us in on all of these special moments.
I can not even believe I am reading this post. I haven't commented in a while, and have just been reading and watching God work. This is such a modern day miracle, it's hard to believe it is true. Congratulations! I remember when we brought our first child home. I can't imagine after all you guys have been through.
I couldn't ask for anything better to read then that your sweet little girl is home with you today. Enjoy your "girls" and have a wonderful first night home together.
I am so so so so so happy for you all! You three make the most wonderful family in the world and Gwyneth is the luckiest girl alive! Thanks for keeping me so many positive reasons to smile over what has been a hard couple of weeks. Will keep following your story - you guys are fab! xxx
So proud and amazed! Happieness doesn't even touch what I feel for you. Remember to take that walk in the gardens for me with your two beautiful girls!
Long time reader, first time commenter....Just wanted to congratulate the both of you for all that you have gone through and I am SO HAPPY that you have your baby girl at home now! I feel like a proud friend and I don't even know you. Enjoy every minute with your baby, they grow up VERY fast!
Wow!! Having followed your blog daily since January, I can't help but thank the Lord for His continued faithfulness in giving your family exceedingly, abundantly more then you could ever ask or imagine! What an awesome God and what a wonderful day! Thanks for sharing!
Well praise God! I remember how incredible and precious those first few weeks at home were, and that was with a normal pregnancy and birth. Cannot imagine how special this must be for you and Tricia. Take some time to yourselves, you will never get these days back!
I am in awe of this wonderful miracle that you have shared so openly. Thanks you and we will be praying for an easy adjustment for you and your beautiful girls!
Nate, I've never commented before, but couldn't stop myself after seeing this post. I've been following your story from before Gwyneth even arrived and check your blog everyday (or sometimes several times).
Congratulations over and over! I am brimming with excitement for you and Tricia and can't wait to watch as Gwyneth grows (if you'll be kind enough to let us see). Enjoy having your sweet girl at home. I have two girls myself and they are such a joy! You will both be amazing parents.
Lots of love from the Craig family in Saskatchewan, Canada
What an exciting day! You must be so thrilled to be living all together as a family in the same place! Love it, love it, love it. We're looking forward to the fun stories that come along with a baby in the house :)...spitting-up on the couch...pottying on the bed during the diaper change...pooping through everything! Enjoy :)
Oh Happy Day!!!!!!!!!! I am so blessed by all of your posts, your transparency, and your love for your two girls. I pray that the Lawrenson Family THRIVES on the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
What an amazing ride. It's been an honor traveling with you over the past few months. I am SO happy your girls are home with you. What a miracle, a true miracle. Praise the Lord!
Praise God! You three are such a picture of love and God's faithfulness. I pray His blessings continue to flow your way. Thank you for being a beacon of light through such a chellenging situation!
She's beautiful! Your family is beautiful. I'm so excited I could keep typing for way too long so I'll end here. Enjoy every moment!
YAY! Congrats! Gracious I am SO happy for you three. I hope you all have a wonderful snuggle fest together and love on each other lots. SO happy for you all!
Hi Nathan. I've been reading this blog since just before Gwyneth's birth, but I've never commented. I've just enjoyed reading and praying for your family. But this post brought tears to my eyes. God is so good, and so faithful and your family is such a great witness to those attributes. Thanks for being so willing to be used by God and for sharing it with so many others. God HAS blessed you!
Congrats! it must be so wonderful to have your 2 girls at home and out of the hospital :) Isnt God great?!?! best wishes and continued prayers to all 3 of you!!
What a miracle your family is! God bless you all! Congratulations on bringing your girls home.
Hope you get some sleep. When we first brought Cooper home from the NICU, I don't think we slept the first few days. We were nervous and so excited to have our baby home.
I just discovered your blog yesterday (thanks to Jessica Claire) and am now addicted. You see, while in graduate school, I nannied for a little boy with CF. I was nervous about falling in love with this wonderful child and then possibly having him taken away from me (the only thing I knew about CF came from Frank Deford's novel, made into a movie, "Alex the Life of a Child" a wonderful, but heartbreaking, movie). When his mom explained to me the amazing life expectancy and I began to educate myself more about CF, I, of course, fell for the adorable and hilarious Sam. He was 1 then. He is now 12, which means that, sadly, I am an old lady, apparently.
HOWEVER...totally not the point. The point is that I prayed for you and your family last night, and this was indeed very late, as I was up WAY too late reading your amazing story! I am touched by everything I have read, but what I have maybe been most touched by is your total open minded and fair and loving spirit. I just read a post where you responded so kindly to someone who questioned your decision, and even gently reprimanded those who attacked that poster.
I am pro choice. Contrary to a common belief, that does not mean I am pro abortion. It means that I believe everyone should make the choice that is best for them. That is what you and Tricia VERY BRAVELY did. I am overwhelmed by your bravery, in fact. And I'm sure it would be easy to be defensive to those who question your decision, and I don't even know that anyone would blame you. But again and again you seem to take the high road, and you are an amazing person for it.
Sorry this is so long. I just wanted to say that I'm honored to be in the "presence" (even though it's a web presence...I still think it counts in this case) of such a beautiful, wonderful loving family. And I will continue to pray for you as you bring your beautiful girls home.
Oh, Yaaaahhhhh!!!! Everybuggy is home now!!!! Yaaaahhhhh!!!! I am thrilled beyond belief to read this. We will continue to pray for your girls. I sure hope you'll keep blogging so we can have a peek at your family doing every day stuff and not being in the hospital anymore. Hugs to you all and God bless! Stacy :-)
Congratulations on bringing your little miracle home! The pictures brought tears to your eyes! Thank the Lord for answered prayers! We are so excited for you to experience all the "firsts" with your beautiful Gwyneth Rose!
Congrats on finally being able to bring your baby girl home! This is my first time commenting on your blog, although I have been keeping up with it for some time. I am in awe and inspired by the strength and faith that you and your wife have. I have a two year old little girl with cystic fibrosis, and two years ago I was bringing her home after living in the hospital for a month due to meconium ileus complications. I thought a month was a long time! Nathan, enjoy having your girls home, and Tricia....Fight On!
Do you hear that?....Listen real carefully and point your ears to the south...Hear it now?... That's the sound of 11 little Lockwood prayer warriors jumping around and cheering because little Gwyneth is home! love, Us ;)
An amazing time in your life right now. Probably a bit scary and overwhelming too. Gwyneth is a gorgeous baby. Enjoy your first moments together away from the hospital.
Enjoy every minute of it. I remember when we finally got to bring our daughter home from the hospital, I was so excited. I didn't know what to do first.
Ahhh...Nate...to see you holding your sweet baby girl... You have the same grin on your face that every daddy of little girls has. That little one already has you right where she wants you, and don't you forget it :) I was my daddy's princess, we have 2 precious princesses... and you have your beautiful, wonderful White Rose...she IS a princess... May today be the first day of a long, wonderful, peaceful life. I wish only good things for all of you, today and in the future.
Although I've not posted before, I've been reading your posts faithfully for the last 6 months and have been praying for this day! With tears in my eyes, all I can say is, "Welcome home"! Take some much deserved time off for family bonding, but I can't wait to see more pics! Thanks for allowing me to share this incredible faith journey with you!
What a lovely moment. Thank you for sharing yet another special time with us. I pray that your first night with everyone home is an easy one. Even if G is up all night (as babies tend to do) I know you'll love every minute of it. Congratulations.
AWESOME!!!!! Praise God for your journey, your candor, and your incredible witness. I am sure everyone in Nags Head is itching for some baby-love from Gwyneth!
YA HOOO! What a praise! God is good! Welcome to the world of no sleep though. (not that you are used to having much in the past anyhow). Either way, Congratulations and enjoy every moment of it. Blessings, Angie Seaman www.angelicagracedesigns.com/blog/ www.angelicagracedesigns.com
Here's to lots of sleepless nights!! Some of the most special, memorable moments will be when you are rocking, singing quietly and comforting in the dark.
Praise God!!! You guys are blessed and are a blessing to so many. Thank you for sharing what God has and is doing in your lives. You guys have a special place in our hearts. Thank You, Jesus, for this precious family!
Sweet! Hope you both have stockpiled some sleepting time...sometimes I just sat by the cradle to watch my little one sleep. They're amazing, babies. Truly gifts from God.
This is the day that the Lord has made in His Plan before Gwyneth was even conceived. Wow, the day I have been praying for since last year is here and now, today. Thursday May l5,2008. What a year it has been!! May this MIRACLE continue to go on and on and on............! Prayers continue for the three of you and may this new journey you begin today be blessed with love and grace and thanksgiving for all that He has done. Oh how I love a good miracle:)
AWESOME!!! This just made my day! I love this happy feeling! It just amazes me how fast your girls have gotten healthy Nate! They sure do love you bunches!
*Signed up for a google account just so I can say...*
Thanks be to God!
This is an amazing thing! I remember the trip home from the NICU, and I get a little teary-eyed just thinking about it. I was nervous with my NICU baby, much moreso than with my first. So, if you get rattled, don't worry. Trust your instincts. You are both doing the jobs you were BORN to do.
I can not tell you how much watching your story unfold has meant to me, and to thousands of others. You have strengthened our faith, modeled true love, shown us your courage...you are amazing people, whether you see it or not.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so willing to share your story in order to build awareness of CF, among all the other things you've taught us. I can not even fathom how many people now know what CF is, because of you. Everytime I read a comment on your blog that says, "I just made a donation" I get choked up. Just look at what you guys have done! When the CFF realizes that they have just had a HUGE fundraising year despite a recession...they'd better know whom to thank!
I imagine that at some point the frequency of your blogs will slow down. And I hope it will. There will be a time when you just need to be a family. We will miss you. But, you will NEVER be far from our hearts. You have left an indelible mark upon all of us.
Enjoy, no, CHERISH, this first night of the rest of your lives. It's going to be a wild and wonderful ride.
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow! Praise Him, all creatures here below! Praise Him above, ye heavenly host! Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost! darcy http://ittybittyblog.wordpress.com
Congratulations! The day everyone has been waiting for. It is so amazing and exciting!! Look at the two of you, she so content in your arms and being home. I have tears of joy and happiness for you guys. Your family is the true meaning of a miracle in every aspect, thank you again for sharing. I hope you enjoy every second home with eachother! My best to Tricia!
Tricia and Nate, I have been following your story for months and praying for your family but am posting for the first time. I am crying tears of joy as I read that your precious baby girl went home today! What a beautiful example of God's grace and mercy!
A friend of mine that is on staff with me at our church just had her first grandson born in Atlanta at 24 weeks. He was almost exactly the same size at Gwyneth. They are beginning their journey so I gave them your blog address for encouragement and hope. Thank you for sharing your story so that others can find strength through you. I pray God continues to bless you in abundance. Can't wait to see pictures of all of you living life to it's fullest. What a joy!!!

ReplyDeleteNate, I think the only other time I have seen you look so proud and so happy was when Trisha came through her surgery okay.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you both (well, all of you really)! Its been a long road full of ups and downs and packed with prayers and miracles.
Can't wait to see more pics as you all finally go to your "real" home and settle in again.

How incredible? This is now the beginning of a new chapter of yours and Tricia life! Having your little girl at home will bring you more joy then you could have ever imagined!
ReplyDeleteThat's great news!
ReplyDeleteI happy for you and your family.
Oh Wow! Those pictures say it all. Many blessings! Gwyneth looks so 'right' swaddled in a pink blanket, in your arms, against a backdrop that is NOT a hospital. Welcome home wee one. You are going to have such fun!

ReplyDeleteHi Nathan.

ReplyDeleteHope you get some sleep. When we first brought Cooper home from the NICU, I don't think we slept the first few days. We were nervous and so excited to have our baby home.
Enjoy every second, they grow way too quickly!
Brilliant!!
ReplyDeleteOur God is awsome.
Loads of love always.
xxx
Nate,
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog yesterday (thanks to Jessica Claire) and am now addicted.
WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSUPER BIG CONGRATS!!!
YAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!! Have lots of fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you. I'm thrilled your family is finally together and out of Duke.
ReplyDeleteWOW!! The Lord is good!!! Have fun with your little one :) Don't worry, you won't break her :)
ReplyDeleteHip, hip, hooray!!!!
ReplyDeletePraise God from whom all blessings flow!
ReplyDeleteOh, Yaaaahhhhh!!!!
ReplyDeleteStacy :-)
Congratulations on bringing your little miracle home! The pictures brought tears to your eyes! Thank the Lord for answered prayers! We are so excited for you to experience all the "firsts" with your beautiful Gwyneth Rose!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Rob, Amy, Emily, and Ryan Farrell
That is such wonderful news the whole family being togther in one place ouside of the hospital....
ReplyDeleteI don't think it gets much better than that!!!! Thank you, Lord. She's Daddy's little princess.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteGod has done amazing things...now you and Tricia get to be full-time parents...how exciting!!
You might even enjoy changing every diaper for a while...and have one more thing to appreciate that hospital staff for, hee!!
God Bless!! I hope you all adjust to being together very easily!!
Praising God!
So happy for ya'll...enjoy...relax!
ReplyDeleteYEAH! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finally being able to bring your baby girl home!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Your family is truly amazing. So happy for the 3 of you and wishing only health and happiness in the months and years to come!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on this which is another big step in your journey. Welcome Home Gwyneth!

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! Wow! SO happy for you 3!
ReplyDeleteDo you hear that?....Listen real carefully and point your ears to the south...Hear it now?...
ReplyDeleteThat's the sound of 11 little Lockwood prayer warriors jumping around and cheering because little Gwyneth is home!
love,
Us ;)
Yippeee! Congratulations! Praying Gwyneth will quickly sleep through the night. : )
ReplyDeleteAn amazing time in your life right now. Probably a bit scary and overwhelming too. Gwyneth is a gorgeous baby. Enjoy your first moments together away from the hospital.
ReplyDeletePraise God....
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing that compares to first days home with baby.... enjoy every minute.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeletePraise God!
Yeah!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy every minute of it. I remember when we finally got to bring our daughter home from the hospital, I was so excited. I didn't know what to do first.
Praise God for He IS good!
ReplyDeleteYipee!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh...Nate...to see you holding your sweet baby girl...
ReplyDeleteYou have the same grin on your face that every daddy of little girls has. That little one already has you right where she wants you, and don't you forget it :)
I was my daddy's princess, we have 2 precious princesses...
and you have your beautiful, wonderful White Rose...she IS a princess...
May today be the first day of a long, wonderful, peaceful life.
I wish only good things for all of you, today and in the future.
WHAT totally AWESOME news!
ReplyDeleteMiracles do happen!
Fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I've not posted before, I've been reading your posts faithfully for the last 6 months and have been praying for this day! With tears in my eyes, all I can say is, "Welcome home"! Take some much deserved time off for family bonding, but I can't wait to see more pics! Thanks for allowing me to share this incredible faith journey with you!
ReplyDeleteLinda
What a lovely moment. Thank you for sharing yet another special time with us. I pray that your first night with everyone home is an easy one. Even if G is up all night (as babies tend to do) I know you'll love every minute of it. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteYAY!! Congrats. I'm a frequent (ok, multiple times a day) reader, but I rarely comment.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe the strength of you and your family. I hope Gwenyth continues to thrive!! She truly is adorable.
AWESOME!!!!! Praise God for your journey, your candor, and your incredible witness. I am sure everyone in Nags Head is itching for some baby-love from Gwyneth!
ReplyDeleteYA HOOO! What a praise! God is good! Welcome to the world of no sleep though. (not that you are used to having much in the past anyhow). Either way, Congratulations and enjoy every moment of it.

I have tears of joy.....
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for a couple months now. I don't know what else to say besides, GOD IS GREAT!!!
There is nothing quite like taking your little one home from the NICU! PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNow we want a pic of you and Trish and Gwyneth on the couch! WOOHOO.
Hope you get some sleep tonight, but even if you don't, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself! Have fun!
Here's to lots of sleepless nights!! Some of the most special, memorable moments will be when you are rocking, singing quietly and comforting in the dark.
ReplyDeleteHa! The real fun starts... NOW!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your precious baby girl and being 'home' as a family... No matter how short your nights are and how much sleep you will lack, remember, she will be in high school before you know it (this cliché was told to me numerous times when my first child was born- I wrote it off as a bunch of you know what BUT my little girl is 8 now and wearing skinny jeans- time does really fly!)...
So how about, when bored (ha ha), you give us the next episode of "THE STORY OF US"!?!?!
Aaaahhhhh!!!!! That is me screaming for you (with joy of course)
ReplyDeleteThat has to be one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen!!
ReplyDeleteYEAH!!!! Can't wait to hear more!!!
ReplyDeletePraise God!!! You guys are blessed and are a blessing to so many. Thank you for sharing what God has and is doing in your lives. You guys have a special place in our hearts.
ReplyDeleteThank You, Jesus, for this precious family!
Congrats! Enjoy your time together now that everyone's home!
ReplyDeleteSweet! Hope you both have stockpiled some sleepting time...sometimes I just sat by the cradle to watch my little one sleep. They're amazing, babies. Truly gifts from God.
ReplyDeleteI have tears in my eyes. What an incredible blessing.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy every minute with your precious little girl.
So happy for you!
WHOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! How awesome! Praise God! Enjoy each other :-) This is great!
ReplyDeleteYippee! I am over joyed with happiness for you both! Thanks be to God!
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting day!!!
ReplyDeletePraise God! He is forever faithful!
ReplyDeleteThis is the day that the Lord has made in His Plan before Gwyneth was even conceived.
ReplyDelete~~*Get Some Sleep*~~:) :)
Love, Laurie in Ca.
AWESOME!!! This just made my day! I love this happy feeling! It just amazes me how fast your girls have gotten healthy Nate! They sure do love you bunches!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful day this has been. You have waited so long for this. Welcome Home Gwyneth!!!! You are one Special Little Girl, as are your parents.
ReplyDeleteBless you all,
That is just wonderful news! I am so excited for you and Tricia. Best of luck with everything!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Home!
ReplyDeleteStrange seeing her without her wires attached!
*Signed up for a google account just so I can say...*
ReplyDeleteThanks be to God!
Thank you for sharing your lives with us,
Tami
mom to Emily, 2 1/2 w/cf
This is wonderful news! I cannot tell you how good it is to see those pics of her at home.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for all 3 of you. I have a great big grin.
ReplyDeleteSO exciting! Congratulations! Now, just get ready for all the sleepless nights :) I'm sure you will cherish every one of them!

Tricia and Nate,
ReplyDeleteI have been following your story for months and praying for your family but am posting for the first time.
