(Bump) Haley Palmer

Haley passed away just a little while ago. Please, take the time to visit her site and leave an encouraging message for her family. CF is a horrible disease, but we can make a difference together.

I've been watching Haley Palmer's Story, and, though many of you are already aware of her, I thought I'd mention her for those who aren't.

Haley is 12, with CF and in desperate need of a transplant, but first, she is in critical condition because of other issues. Her family remains hopeful, praying for the same kind of miracle that Tricia and Gwyneth received.

A few of our family who have also been following Haley's blog have noted how much Haley reminds them of Tricia at that age, and I have to agree (from what I've been told of Tricia at that age).

I know that Haley's family would appreciate your thoughts and prayers right now.

Thanks!

Nate

  6. Nate,

Thanks so much to you and your dad for posting the link to Haley's site and the request for prayer. You and Tricia have so many prayer warriors who read your blog. It's great to know that they are now praying for precious Haley and her family.

When I started following your site months ago (before Gwyneth was born), I was struck by how much Tricia reminded me of Haley. They have that same, unbelievable fighting spirit and determination to beat the odds. I forwarded the link to your blog to Jenn (Haley's mom), and, as I mentioned to you previously, Haley and Jenn have been following your story since then, and Tricia has been such an inspiration to them. I hope you and Tricia can meet Haley some day. I'm sure you would see the resemblance...and I know you would both fall in love with her.

I love seeing all the comments from your blog readers. I know when Haley comes out of this and is able to read her guestbook entries herself, she'll be excited to see them, too.

I am praying that Tricia's surgery goes smoothly today and that she gets good results from biopsy.

    Thanks again...

  8. I live in Haley's hometown and actually got to your blog thru her site 5 months ago and have been following both daily. Many prayers have been lifted for both of you. I have much more awareness of what CF is than I have ever known. It's a terrible disease, but I feel blessed to read the stories of what Tricia and Haley have accomplished (and continue to do so!) in helping raise money and awareness for a cure. Thank you to these brave girls and the many more CF'ers that are out there doing the same. I can only hope that my kids can have such faith and a heart for God that Haley does at her age (and Tricia too!) Thank you for the ministry of your blog :o)

  26. I hate it, hate it, hate it when this disease takes kids so young. It hurts with the same amount of pain every time. We need a cure so bad, and even though it's hard to not lose faith, I pray for the cure even harder tonight.

  27. Oh this breaks my heart. It's so sad that she is one of so many stories just like hers. There is another girl who has CF and has now been diagnosed with Leukemia. Her prognosis isn't good. It's very rare to have CF and Leukemia. Her website on caringbridge is here

    Please pray for her.

  30. It's amazing what one little girl can do. You should see the town where she lived, "Owasso's Little Angel" is everywhere, in lights, shoe polished on store front doors, ribbons, it's quite a sight. I saw your link on her site, came to say hi. Your story is amazing, best wishes to you.
    God Bless.

  32. I feel like the air was knocked out of me. Just this morning I was reading your post about checking out Haley's story and I hadn't had a chance to check out her site...then I come back and she is gone. Much love going to her family

  33. Nate, Thank you so much to you and your dad for posting about Haley. Our heart is so broken tonight that this battle is over for her, yet rejoicing that she is no longer suffering at the hands of this dreaded disease. We are still praying for Tricia and your family as well. It's so good to have seen such amazing miracles. Haley had always been the "comeback kid" but this time, God was ready to promote her to a new team. She earned it. I know her family appreciates the prayers and you sharing your readership as they shared your story on theirs. God got another angel but the fight goes on here and I know "Haley's Heroes" (her Great Strides team) will continue to walk on in her honor and in hopes of finding a cure to keep other families from this same sorrow. We're just so thankful Haley new Jesus and that her life touched so many just as yours and Tricia's. What an awesome God we serve that he would allow the rest of us to have a glimpse into lives such as these and be humbled and become more grateful for each breath we take. God bless you all!
