(Bump) National Organ Donor Sabbath

This Sunday, November 16, 2008 Nags Head Church will be participating in National Donor Sabbath.

In the US, the weekend of November 14-16, 2008 will be observed as an interfaith celebration of the gifts of hope provided through organ and tissue donation and transplantation. We will be encouraging those who are members and attenders at NHC to consider becoming organ and tissue donors for the first time.

Please, consider talking with your church/religious organization leaders about participating in this life-changing event. For more info (including how to receive a box of info to help people in your church/religious organization become organ donors), visit the link below.

Thank you!

Nate

  2. Not that you need another story to encourage people - but I will share mine - My mother was suddenly taken from us at the age of 54 due to a massive stroke. We take great comfort that her kidneys and liver enabled two people who were struggling, to now live a more fulfilled life. We are still waiting on the outcome of her corneas and tissues. While it doesn't make the pain easier, I am able to find comfort that she continues to help others post mortum.

  3. What a fantastic idea!! I think it's great that a church takes on the importance of an issue like this-what an awesome, tangible way to live out Christ's call to love and serve other people!

Praying for the event this weekend!

  4. Nate, Can you help pray for Emerson, a beautiful 2 yr old that recently had her own gift of life in June with a multi organ transplant (small intestine, liver and pancreas) and is currently in a coma from an infection. Her mother's faith is amazing throughout all of this.

  9. Hi! Thought I would share with you a video put out by one of Israel's big names in music, encouraging organ donation.

The video was filmed at Soroka Hospital, in Beersheva Israel.
