It seems like I might go for a week or two without receiving any unfriendly, blog-related emails and comments, and then, as if in a brilliantly coordinated effort, I'll receive several unfriendly, blog-related emails and comments within a few days... It's not something that surprises me anymore (there seems to be a pattern, although not related to any particular subject that I post about), and very few of these emails and comments really affect me like they used to...but it still can wear me down, especially when my life is as busy as it has been recently.
I learned a while ago that it's not worth it to spend time and emotion and energy posting responses to the negative...and, while I may respond now and then in the comments sections, I usually just delete and forget, delete and forget.
Since I don't believe that anything is coincidental, and because this week is going to be a crazy one (with a "normal" work week, trying to finish the house, and taking a trip to NJ and back), I've decided that the recent barrage of negativity is a good sign that I should take the week off from blogging.
So, you might see one more fun post from me tonight, and then you probably won't hear from me again until after this coming weekend. Hopefully, when I do post again, it will be filled great news of a fun time with our NJ family and friends and a possible moving day before Christmas!
Thanks to all of my great readers...the VAST majority of whom are always positive and encouraging. I hope this post comes across as un-negatively as possible, because I feel very positive right now. :)
And, enjoy your week away from me!
Nate
Although I will miss reading what you have to say, I know from what I have read that you are in need of a break! Enjoy your time with your family. Looking forward to reading about updates when you return. May you, Tricia, and Gwyneth have a wonderful Christmas.
ReplyDeleteLove from Michigan,
The Hagers
I will miss reading, but breaks are good. There's always a few bad apples in the bunch to try and make it sour for the rest of us. Keep on keeping on!
ReplyDeleteok.....I haven't written before, but I just don't know if I can go without an update on you guys. LOL.....I have come to care about you and your family. My family also has a transplant recipeint and it is close to my heart. I have been so worried about Tricia and Qwyneth. So just know that WE CARE and will be here when you return. Plus, Nate you remind me so much of my Older Brother Doug whom I lost to cancer in 1996. You seem to be so full of life and enjoy having fun and Doug was the same way. I just love hearing about all the things you guys do. Have a Very Merry Christmas....Melissa from GA
ReplyDeleteI will miss you posts, but I understand where you are coming from. :-) Some people can be something else!
ReplyDeleteYour house is looking gorgeous... you and Tricia have great taste! I love the floors and paint you've chosen.
I also enjoyed the Santa pictures. Gwyneth is too cute! Wait till next year when she screams when she sees him! LOL!
Merry Christmas,
Theresa
Just wanted to say Thanks!! I used one of the pictures that you posted to share for my blog header. I am fairly new to blogging so I am still learning. I truely enjoy reading about your family and pray everyday for you guys.
ReplyDeleteOur God is a GREAT God!!
Have a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy trip.
Nate,
ReplyDeleteI totally agree.... Negativity, no matter what form, can bring one down. Good for you! May you Tricia and Gwyneth have a safe trip. We will miss you and will await your next exciting blog.
Hugs,
Jennifer-Ohio
I'm so sorry that there are mean and rude people in the world. Like I tell my 1st graders, I wish I could take all of the bad things away, I can't.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your bloggy break and have a wonderful time with your family.
Have fun up here in NJ. Please don't forget to take lots of those first Christmas pictures, for all of us who love you all.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your blog-cation. You deserve it. I live in NJ too. Maybe I'll stalk you while you are here. (Totally teasing) Have a great safe trip and enjoy time well-spent with family. You guys have an incredible warm and loving family. Not sure why anyone feels the need to be negative/hateful but I am always inspired but you all. I know I have mentioned it before but I thought it was worth mentioning again. Tricia is an amazing strong woman and a great role model on how to remain faithful while dealing with a disease head-on and you are a wonderful example of what a spouse should be. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHave fun during your blog break! Praying you guys have a safe trip and can get the house finished in time for CHRISTmas.
ReplyDeleteI believe it is a coordinated effort. I've seen the same on my blog.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I should go post something saucy....
Have a wonderful break. Drive carefully to NJ and back. Hope you get all you need to done on the house. Have fun with that beautiful family and God bless you abundantly!
ReplyDeleteI've never commented before, but all I can say is WOW! I can't believe people would post something negative on here. Whatever happened to the old saying "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!"
ReplyDeleteThank you, for sharing your life with us. Nothing but the best to the three of you this Christmas and a blessed New Year!!
Not long ago I had an anonymous commenter on my blog that kept leaving incredibly rude comments. As much as I tried to ignore the mean spirited messages, it really bothered me.
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for whoever is harassing you...praying that their heart softens and they develop a character that pleases our loving Heavenly Father.
Enjoy your week together as a family making beautiful memories. You do the right thing ignoring ignorant people. Attention seeking is what they are after. Take lots of photos. We will be excited to see them when you return. Many prayers for a wonderful Christmas Season and a Happy New Year in your new home. (=
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your rest- let's hope the nasty comments take one too... That just isn't cool at all.
ReplyDeleteJolly
Enjoy the holiday time with your family! Having everyone together is a great thing to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteMay the Miracle of Christmas be with you and your family in this season and throughout the year!
Have a great vacation, we'll miss you!
ReplyDeleteDon't let those negative comments get you down, we love you guys!
Safe travels.
Enjoy the time away.
ReplyDeleteDon't understand why people feel the need to post negative things on anyone's blog. But you're right, delete and forget is probaby best.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week, the house gets finished and your trip is fun and travels are safe.
Take care of your family this week and enjoy this time of year!!! I think that there are just weird "trolls" on the internet that like to leave weird/rude comments and statements. I'm very active on flickr and have encountered one or two of that kind of situation. I just think some people are weird---I am sorry that you guys received those :( Y'all are so inspiring and I love following your blog----Don't stress about the kookies---the real world has em too!
ReplyDeleteHugs and safe travels ~
ReplyDeleteYou know you are not the only blogger that has recently complained about this..... it is interesting why anyone would feel the "need" to comment if it is anything negative. Angie with Audrey Caroline is dealing with this too. Its a shame. I was thinking it was just some overly grumpy, emotional people/Christians etc.
ReplyDeleteAs I said to her and you already know, you can't please everyone...so even if you decide to take a break and then a day or so later realize that you don't want to continue that break.... ITS YOUR BLOG, so don't let anyone take it from you or bring you down.
Just do as Jesus would call you to do and continue to love the unlovable ones, they obviously like you or they wouldn't be reading in the first place.
As they say in Hollywood "being talked about good or bad, is better than not being talked about at all".... that means you are famous in Hollywood and "hot" on the mark at that time. Although this isn't that extreme, but a fun way to think of those that leave negative remarks.... it means your blog is "hot" on the market for now and people are reading it, so comments are better than none. LOL
God Bless and Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Be proud and hold your head up and don't give grumpy people the satisfaction of bringing good people down.
I love reading your posts!! Thanks for sharing your lives with us blog readers. Your house is looking awesome and you baby is beautiful and I am so glad Tricia is doing well! I will miss your posts but enjoy your week off. Don't let the negative responses get you down...you are right to just delete and forget! Merry Christmas from Ontario Canada
ReplyDeleteComing out of lurking to offer a suggestion:
ReplyDeleteThe second you see where a negative comment or email is going, simply delete it. There is no reason why you need to read the entire thing. The whole purpose behind people sending you their evil thoughts is to steal your joy. Satan wears many disguises. Those comments and emails would wear me down, too.
Enjoy your blogging break! We will miss the adorable Gwenyth pics, but figure you'll have a ton to share when you return. :)
Nate, how will I ever survive without my daily updates from you. I feel like I know your family so well.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break. Look after your two special girls
We'll miss you, but we understand.
ReplyDeleteSeeing Christ in your reaction and that blesses me.
Have a wonderful Christmas,
Joy
No YOU enjoy your week away!! And most importantly..enjoy the time with your family!! Have fun!!
ReplyDeleteAnd maybe just one more adorable pic of Gwyneth??? She is just too precious!!!
I hope you all have a fantabulous time! You deserve a break from all of this. I am an avid reader of your blog, but I don't comment much, I hope that doesn't make me a stalker. I read it to remain inspired. With all that your family has been through, your commitment to God is truly wonderful. God Bless you all and I wish you a very Merry Christmas! Blessings from Michigan!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy NJ and family.....I'll miss your updates but I hope ya'll have a nice break!
ReplyDelete........
some people just can't be happy for anything....
ReplyDeletei understand the break and you will be very busy!
Enjoy your visit with family and friends and we will look forward to hearing about the fun you had...and lots of pics too!
You all be safe in your travels and have the most wonderful time!! Take lots and lots of pictures to share once you are back from your "blogcation"
ReplyDeleteTake care
Nate: Will miss your updates - but totally understand. Don't understand why these people have to write anything ... have a great time enjoying family and making memories.
ReplyDeleteLove & hugs,
Susan
I can not imagine why anyone would feel the need to send negative words your way. I love your blog! Keep it up and those who are negative do not deserve words to be wasted on them. I believe they must have a sad sad life to send out bad karma to the world!
ReplyDeletePlease, I didnt mean anything i said to upset you. I am sorry I misunderstood your humor, but I didnt mean it with ill intent myself.
ReplyDeleteI will probably forget that you told us that you are taking a break, and will keep checking at least once a day. Haha... it will keep your counter going up!
ReplyDeleteTrish- I'm a little sad that I wont be in NJ this year- I would have totally tried to meet up with you guys! Hopefully somewhere down the road we'll both take vacations "home" at the same time so we can meet each others' babies (and husbands) Have a great trip! We'll be praying that the weather is good for traveling :)
I cannot believe that anyone would write anything bad. Your story is so inspirational! Delete and forget sounds like the answer to me!
ReplyDeleteGood for you, breaks are always great. I hate that there are people out there who choose to force their negativity on others, but as always it seems you are handling it with grace. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThis blog vacation is much deserved. Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI think life has given your family enough negativity (CF, Cancer,etc...) which you've handled amazingly well. I don't know why people would add to that on purpose?!?! I'm sorry you have to endure rude people.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week, however busy it may be. I look forward to the updates next week.
I can't imagine why people would be negative. They have huge problems obviously - very pitiful!
ReplyDeleteI'll miss reading your daily updates and will look forward to what you post later this week. Have a great trip to NJ.
Thanks for continuing to be bright lights. God bless you! - Bev in Canada
You deserve a break, can't wait to hear your stories next week.
ReplyDeleteThe week away from you will make me sad, but I will deal!!! :)
ReplyDeletePraying safe travel for ya'll back and forth to NJ and that you are able to get everything accomplished to move into the house by Christmas!!!
Enjoy your break from Blogging...Hope you return refreashed!!!
Take off as much time as you need. Enjoy your time "off" with your family and have a great vacation! Blessings to you, Gwyneth & Tricia.
ReplyDeleteI will NOT enjoy my week away from CFHusband, and you can't make me! I love when my Google Reader tells me you have a new post. Enjoy your vacation. I will be praying that you get all of the last minute things done, and have a safe trip. I'm sure the K, P, and S families are excited to love on your beautiful baby girl!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, to you and your lovely family!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy spending time with your family!!!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is my first stop in the morning. I will miss you, but understand why a break is necessary.
ReplyDeleteI want to wish you, Tricia, and Gwyneth a Blessed Christmas.
Bah Humbug to the negative people.
Oh if anyone needs a break, it's you. Maybe by the time you are back the naysayers will have gone elsewhere. I hope you have a wonderful trip and I look forward to your updates when you return or feel like updating. I always love what you have to say about life. It's all good. Love you guys.
ReplyDeleteLaurie
Enjoy the break. And remember, mean people stink.
ReplyDelete: )
ReplyDeleteYou are always so well-considered in what you say - even when you have to say things like this. It must be difficult to strike just the right tone, but you so often do. Yours is my favorite blog of all time for many many reasons, included among which are your intelligence and sense of humor.
Anyhow, its fun to think of you three too busy to blog because your life is consumed with relatively ordinary crazyness, not such difficult stuff as you have all been through this year. Have a safe journey to NJ; your house is looking GREAT; T and G and you are looking great in your pics. May your life be filled with all sorts of blessedly common, banal events like graduating to larger diaper sizes.
Go and enjoy your blog vacaction! You deserve it! For all the bad eggs out there. Your gonna get coal in your stocking if your not careful!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and enjoy the time away from blogging!
I haven't been on here for a while but, you and your family are so special. Have a beautiful Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteMargarete and family
We'll miss you, but will enjoy knowing that you all are having a good time in NJ. Hope this week of work, plus on the house, doesn't stress you out too much!
ReplyDeletebe careful on your travels to the NJ and back - hoping all the ice related junk didn't hit that area -understand the need for a break on the blogging, I get hit with that myself!
ReplyDeleteHave to say I agree with a few of the PP ... "mean pepole stink!" and "if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all".
ReplyDeleteWe love all you posts and updates and photos!
Hope you have a great time in NJ and that you all enjoy Gywn's first Christmas!
Isn't it amazing how a few words on a computer screen from complete strangers can have such an affect on us - good AND bad?
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed Christmas.
Praying you have a great blogcation... We will miss you.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful time in NJ - I'll miss reading your updates though. Merry Christmas!!!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week off!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that there are so many negative people!!! I can't imagine what there could be that is "bad" about you and your family!!!
Since the nastiness seems to be cyclical, perhaps these rude people suffer from "BMS"--"Blogger's Mean Syndrome"....sort of related to "PMS"... Ignore and delete is a good plan. Don't give them the time of day--they don't deserve it. Have a great trip to NJ with your family. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteENJOY your week!
ReplyDeleteenjoy YOUR week away :) Hope you guys get into the house!!
ReplyDeletedo whatever you have to do to enjoy your life. don't give the negative posters a second thought. they are lonely bitter people.
ReplyDeleteI will miss your blog for the week! You are one of the most faithful bloggers that I read, and I enjoy seeing all the pictures and updates. I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas! Christ is born! Glorify Him!
ReplyDeleteNate,
ReplyDeleteyou are so generous to share your lives with us and we enjoy--BUT, everyone needs a break now and then. We will miss you, but have a wonderful and safe break. I pray for travel mercies for you and the family. And as for those negative folks, we will pray for them too--sad that is all they have to look forward to in their life.
Blessings to all of you!!
Shari NC
Have a great week, Nate. You'll be missed during your bloggy break, but I completely understand. Mean people stink! Anyway, hugs to all three of you!! You are in our daily prayers. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWarmly,
Stacy :-)
Have a wonderful trip and I will miss reading your updates. I am sorry that there has to be the few that try to tear you down. Your entire family is an inspiration to me. Enjoy your break from blogging and I look forward to the upadates of your fun in NJ. Happy Holidays!!!
ReplyDeleteTammy
May this week seem easy and filled with lots of fun! You deserve it, after all!
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way...looks like you're doing a FANTASTIC job on the house! It looks AWESOME!
Thank you for remembering that the VAST majority of us truly do care and love your family and so appreciate being part of your lives.
ReplyDeleteYou have enough to do anyway with getting the house ready and all. Have a great blogging break Nate. Big love to both your girls and have a very,Merry, Merry Christmas
j
Have a great blog break...I find they are good for us sometimes. I enjoy reading your blog. I don't read many manblogs...but your love and support for your family is very encouraging to read. Thanks and enjoy the holidays with your beautiful family!
ReplyDeletePeople are jerks. I'm sorry you are taking a break. I look forward to your updates (even though I don't know you personally). You have a beautiful family and have many blessings in your life.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!
I will miss reading your posts, too! I hope you all have a wonderful time on your vacation! For all you negative peeps...QUIT HATIN!! Merry Christmas!:)
ReplyDeleteHave fun in Jersey! The weather is so nice here right now. I hope its this nice when your gang is up!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great trip! Will miss reading your blogs.
ReplyDeletePraying for your family :)
Have a blessed Christmas thinking of the One who gave it to us :)
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine what anyone would have to say that was negative? But if it makes you feel better, I once had someone tell me that I was so many shades of stupid, Crayola didn't make a box big enough to color me in - I thought that was pretty creative as ad hominem attacks go!
ReplyDeleteHave a great holiday all three of you!
Have a wonderful Christmas with your amazing family, and just feel badly for the folks who are in so much pain themselves that they need to inflict it on others. What a lot of work you have put in on your house! No one deserves to have their very own home more than you and Tricia and Gwyneth!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year too - don't stay away too long!
I will miss your updates! It is like you are going on a blog vacation .... enjoy your time off :)
ReplyDeleteCan't imagine people commenting negatively. I just don't get it. Oh well, enjoy your week off and BTW the house looks just great! Love the bold colors on the walls. Merry first Christmas Gwyneth. What a miracle you are! I am still remembering all of you in my prayers here in Michigan.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Blogging Break - you've got a lot going on. I'll miss your blog but I'll be thinking about y'all having your first Christmas together with Baby Gwyneth.
ReplyDeleteLove to All!
Don't let a bunch of jerks spoil your fun Nate! The best way to overcome negativity is to blast through it. If you stop posting, then they win.
ReplyDeleteBTW, the floors look GREAT! I'm jealous!
~~~ Jen
I don't blame you a bit for taking a week off but I will say that I will miss reading your stories for the week :0) You are very entertaining & I adore seeing pictures of Gwyneth!! She's a cutie pie!! As for any negative comments, I think you handle all of that brilliantly by ignoring!!! I would probably just get my feelings hurt & be livid!! Anyway, I hope the 3 of you have an amazing week & a safe trip to NJ!!! Hope the house is done before Christmas!!! Wouldn't it be wonderful to be in there for Baby's 1st Christmas??!!
ReplyDeleteEmily in Mississippi
Hi Nate! I found your blog while searching for other parents of micropreemies. I am a proud mother of sassy 24 week twin girls. They are 19 mos. old now and thriving thanks to early intervention services. I would love to hear more about Gwyneth and how she is developmentally progressing. She looks fabulous and beautiful!! PS--for some reason, there are always negative people out there. . .continue to delete them and focus on the positives. Your family has so many people praying for only wonderful things for all of you. Best of luck and happy blogging!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break. I will be lost without your witty posts! They make my days alittle brighter, and Gwyneth's pictures always bring a smile.
ReplyDeleteSo, make lots of memories (and pictures) with your family!! We'll be waiting for the update when you get back.
Love from Alabama,
Kim W.
Have a good break!
ReplyDeleteAnd, because I'm too lazy to navigate back a couple of posts to the "welcome home" pictures, I'll say it here: Tricia looks way cute with the peachfuzz hair!
you will be missed, but enjoy the time with your family! Sorry for the negative readers... this reader looks forward to sharing in your happiness and the wonderful outlook of your family!
ReplyDeleteUnderstood with your family need a break from here.. Go ahead have fun. We will be thinking of you..
ReplyDeleteUntil then when you are back and in better mood and all busy going on..
Wish your family well
I check your blog often. Sometime leave comment sometime not. nasty comments are not needed.
Natem Tricia, and the babe,
ReplyDeleteI just can't imagine who has the time or energy to post negative responses.
Life is so short, why in the world would people choose to be hateful? I don't get it.
So to make up for all those negative posts, the Froggy Family sends LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to you! We only have time and energy for LOVE! What else is there?
Have a wonderful cyber vacation. We'll miss you. xoxxo
Elise
the house looks amazing! You are doing such a great job updating it. I can't wait to see it all finished.
ReplyDeletePlease enjoy your time off and I look forward to your return!
Nathan,
ReplyDeleteI will miss reading your blog but sometimes its good to get away. I hate that some people can be so cruel and ugly.
I pray for GOD's continued blessing. May you have a blessed Christmas.
Love in Christ,
Laura Russell
Will miss your thoughts. Sorry some folks are so darn mean. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeletemay you have a wonderful time away. I hope that the negative comments are outweighed by positive and that you will continue to share how God is working in your life with all of us "out here".
ReplyDeletemay God continue to bless your family. Prayers going up that your house is ready soon and that you can spend your first holiday there as a family.
Cindy
I'm glad that you're taking some time off - at least from here. The negative has no place in your life - and the folks that put it on your blog should know better. I sincerely hope that your week is full of good thoughts, better times and amazing memories.
ReplyDeleteSee ya -
Jess
Don't worry; that did come across as un-negative. It's not worth worrying about the judgments a minority of people will make. Hope the week goes well for you all. The house is looking great. Enjoy the time with your families!
ReplyDeleteSome people ruin so much for others. I really enjoy your blog and love that you update several times a week. I understand why you want a break. Keep it up though!
ReplyDeleteLord,
ReplyDeletePlease protect this precious family from the evil one.I praise You for all the Glorious blessings You have given them this year! Thank you for showing out to all of us through the Lawrences.
Amen
Pam
I love your posts, I am sorry that people are mean, and unkind, but it happens to all of us. It is hard to shake some of them off, but remember what you are doing, is amazing, your family is amazing, and your blog is helping bring attention to what matters most.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break, and keep on bloggin' :)
Enjoy your family time. We will just see you when you get back.
ReplyDeleteI truly appreciate and encourage the need to have a Blog-cation! We all should take them more often. It is unbelievable that people could dream of saying anything disrespectful or mean to or about you. You are always so considerate of others even when dealing with the meanies. Bravo you amazing family!! Enjoy the time Tricia and Gwyenth. Merry Christmas and safe travels.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week off of blogging. We'll miss you guys. Can't wait to see more pics of Gwenyth, Tricia and the house. (You to Nate.) LOLOL
ReplyDeleteSafe travels.
Sonja
Enjoy your week away from us, we'll just have to get by somehow. Have a happy week. The house is coming along nicely. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Christmas!! May God continue to bless you and your family this new year. Congrats on your new house too!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to leave you a positive comment! I love reading your blog even though I rarely leave you a message. Your blog is definitely a bright spot in my day!
ReplyDeleteI love and pray for your family. I have NEVER written a comment before, but I get so excited over seeing how much Gwyneth is thriving.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I lost three babies in the past two years. Praying for Gwyneth has restored my belief, not in prayer, but in the power of MY prayers.
After a hard day of work and school, I am always so refreshed by seeing a new picture of your growing miracle baby!
It's so sad that mean, stupid people have to try and ruin your day....don't let them. I love your blog and the pictures of your little blessing (Gwyneth) always brighten my day. Enjoy your trip and your week off, but please come back! :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip, Christmas and by the way, the house looks great!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are doing what you need to do (break). I just can't imagine what people could write that's negative. First and foremost...if you don't like what you are reading, then go read a different site! I will never understand negative people like that.
ReplyDeleteAnyway...I am super excited to hear about the move in!!!! Stay well! I'll miss the regular posts, but completely understand!
Hi Nate,
ReplyDeleteI've only posted a comment one time before this one and I mostly never read them. I'm interested in your story, that's all.
However, I'm quit shocked to read that there are (obviously many)people out there who bother in writing nasty comments. Why? Live and let live.
I hope your little writing-break fills you with new energy and I wish all of you beautiful holidays.
Greetings from Holland,
Irène (also CF and also very occupied with new house things. =D Although our house won't be ready until summer 2009)
I understand the blog shut down...who has time to babysit the haterz when you are trying to enjoy the holidays and get all moved!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteHowever, I move that you CONTINUE TO BLOG and turn those rascals over to us. We will TAKE THEM DOWN. haha. You are far too many supporters. They don't stand a chance.
;-)
As for the "pattern" that you see in the negative/unwarranted comments--check it against the timing of the full moon. I'm not kidding!!! By the way, the full moon for this month was December 12 and you posted this on December 15--coincidence????!!!!!
ReplyDeletehave a positively wonderful week!, and enjoy your break with your family :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my Favorite Bumper Stickers is "Mean People Suck". Sorry for all the Mean People out there!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the house! I pray you and your Beautiful family have an incredible Christmas! May Santa bring everything you guys desire......God Bless!
Good for you Nate!!Don't let creeps get to you! You have a beautiful family that has been tremdously blessed by God!! Have a great trip and Merry CHRISTmas!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with family!! And I pray that you will feel God's strength through a busy week!
ReplyDeleteHave fun in NJ!!! You deserve a break!
ReplyDeleteI love your family with all of my heart and I've never met you. Smile because there are always traces of Satan in our world but God finds many ways to take of this evil.
ReplyDeleteTake care and good luck with everything. I hope to hear from you next week... if not sooner :)
I understand about taking a break...I've done it a couple times on my own blog (not here...I dont write on this one anymore but I keep it so I can comment and keep up with your family!)
ReplyDeleteI pray blessings on your family this Christmas season - may you be filled with joy, laughter and memories.
And to all the mean people. .. stay away!
I'm so sorry too Nate/Tric and I understand what you mean/how you feel.
ReplyDeleteAs you know, we are expecting baby #12. While just the fact that I have had a lot of precios little ones seems to give some people an open door to say mean things, this pregnancy has been my first very complicated one.
I flew to the USA and am in good hands (of course, I'm always in the Lord's hands...soooo good), but as I've shared on our blog, I was truly shocked and saddened by the really horrible things said to/about Daniel and I.
I even thought about writing you knowing how you have had to deal with this a lot and wanting some advice. I didn't cuz I know you are soooo busy, and so this post was just what I needed today :)
We love you all and pray for you daily.
Thank you! Have a wonderful week in the Lord! I can't wait to see pictures of Gwyneth's first Christmas!
love,
Jaynee
Good idea! Your family is getting ready for excitement, don't let any cyber nerds mess it up!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously? What is with people? I just don't understand why they think they have the right to criticize when they've never been close to wearing your shoes. I cannot believe they have anything to criticize, either. Unless it was your color choice for the walls (I keed, I keed. I like green and brown!).
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I wish you and your beautiful family love and peace and happiness this holiday season. And I wish the anonymous negative commenters peace in their heart and soul.
Being closer than most to Nathan, I've seen some of the comments and emails. What really gets to him (and me) are the ones from those who proclaim loudly their faith in Christ out one side of their mouth while at the same time cast their judgment over things that in the grand scheme of things don't really matter or are totally none of their concern.
ReplyDeleteThere's much I could add to that, but, hey, it's Christmas time! Spread the joy. But remember, Christian, God called you to be a light in the world, not to put everybody else's light out.
Have a wonderful week, good luck with the house and have a happy blogation (blogation=blog vacation!I just made it up!). I love the pics of Santa and Gwyneth. Just forget the crazy people and their meanie posts. Duh!
ReplyDeleteLove from IL,
The Klitzkes
I will miss you and the wonderful stories, but understand everyone needs a break. The house is looking gorgeous, and can't wait to see more soon.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the people who are so negative, theres always a few huh?
Breaks are good (I've been on a two-month break from my blog!), but never forget that for every sour apple out there who has nothing good to say, there are THOUSANDS of people who are so encouraged by your family's story and keep coming back to see more evidence of God's goodness in your lives! You've blessed us all by letting us share in your journey. I wish you all the most blessed of Christmases!
ReplyDeleteNate, have so much fun in New Jersey with Tricia and Gwyneth!!
ReplyDeleteWill look forward to reading about your trip when you get back!
That is just crazy!
ReplyDeleteI don't even understand what people could post negatively about you guys!
You are such a family centered, God-honoring guy (and a great writer/photographer to boot!)
I hope you enjoy your well deserved blog break
(Although you could 'throw us a bone' every now and then with a cute photo or two of Gwenyth... cough, cough...);-)
God Bless,
Michelle
I will miss your updates because i find your insights to life encouraging to my heart and i love to see how your girls are doing. . . but i understand how important it is to retreat. so i really hope you enjoy your time away and that you have a delightful visit with your nj family. blessings to you as you advent.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you continue to get negative comments. I'll never understand it. We continue to pray for all of you and thank God for His faithfulness to you and your willingness to be used by Him to impact others!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing that you'll be in NJ! Seriously, does life even exist outside of SJ?! =)
Have a great time!
Debby
Never let others negative thoughts bring you down. If they post negative, then they are not happy people. It's sad, but true.
ReplyDeleteYour posts are all wonderful and we all know that!
Happy Holidays!!! I love reading about you guys and seeing all your wonderful photo's!
Argh! Some people! I've even had some nasty comments on my little blog lately, but all you can do is blow them off. Enjoy your blog vacation (you deserve it!) and know that we will all continue to pray for your adorable little family! :)
ReplyDeletei have been reading your blog for months now, erin l is a good friend of mine. we live in south jersey and seeing you are coming up here and redoing a house (my husband and i have redone a few) thought we should tell you about a gem.....it's called the restore. it is in turnersville i think, and it's a warehouse owned by habitat for humanity where they sell all the house and building supplies people have donated that they can't use. we have gotten amazing things there at amazing prices, doors, windows, light fixtures, you name it really, down to doorknobs and nails. if you get a chance you should check it out, benifits a good cause and might help you in your making a house a home efforts!
ReplyDeleteHuh? I don't understand why people would post mean and rude comments. Though, I was surprised to see rude comments on the YouTube video for Kyle (I run the Kyle David Miller Foundation) - the video is called the Importance of a 5pt Harness. How people can post mean things about a child that was taken from earth too soon is just beyond my comprehension.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, please enjoy your break and holidays in NJ and I hope everyone stays safe and well!
(((Nate))) (((Tricia))) (((Gwyneth)))
ReplyDeleteI have really come to love you as a family, it's beyond me why people would want to hurt good people. It's the way of life i guess, one of those challenges that make us weaker or stronger. xoxo
We will miss your posts, and I'm glad you know most of your readers support and truly love the way you share your family and life...good for you for keeping a positive attitude.
ReplyDeleteLaura
Hope you have a positively good week and an even more positively wonderful Christmas with your family!
ReplyDeleteNate,
ReplyDeleteSending lots of hugs and happiness and positivity your way! I love your blog and feel such an affection for your family, even from far away. You encourage me and I want to encourage you back! "Delete and forget" is a great way to go with all those silly naysayers. Who needs 'em?
Merry Christmas!!!
Becky
Congrats on the Divine Caroline win! I'm so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteNasty comments...sorry that this has happened to you! Don't take off too much time...I'll miss hearing about sweet Gwyneth...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break and the extra time with your family. Happy Holidays and enjoy Gwyneth's first Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your Christmas with your family!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that people have said rude or mean things to you. I enjoy reading your blog. I will miss not reading what is going on with you and your family. Have a nice trip and a wonderful holiday.
ReplyDeleteAt least you have a ton of people who do read your blog. That is really nice.
I am so sorry that you have to deal with such rude, insensitive people. After your girls began to get better and you all got home, I thought it best not to comment so often. I just honestly thought you had your hands full and I would better serve you by continuing to pray. I will continue to pray and look forward to some happy news from you trip and for moving in before Christmas!!!
ReplyDeleteLove from Illinois,
Michelle
I have never posted before but I read back - esp the journey of Gwyneth (I am a NICU nurse)but mostly I like opening up your blog - and I mean this is the most positive way - to see your 3 faces at the top and you as parents look so smug (nicely) almost saying - look who I have in my life. You both look so proud and you proudest of all over your 2 dear loves in your life. Keep up the joy in your life and spreading a smile to the rest of the world
ReplyDeleteBlessings this Christmas season
JOyce
I can relate Nate, its an awful thing that the negative comments pop up and it seems like it is always around nothing you have posted about. We have the same thing going on with our blog. I feel sad for those individuals who feel they can do and go through these difficult medical situations better than the way we choose too. I give you a ton of respect and at the end of the day you and I both know we just make the best decisions and choices we can for our family (your wife and child) and (my husband and child), they are who matter. The other thing is that we continue to have our faith and pray.........
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week
SMILE
Enjoy your time "off" from us...hee,hee
ReplyDeleteSome people just suck. I am sorry that people are being negative. It is really a sad thing...it only shows others how incredibly unhappy they really are. It's sad. I hope that this break is fabulous for your family! Stay Safe!
ReplyDeleteHave a great time in NJ and a fantastic Christmas!
ReplyDeleteLove to all,
Betty Ann
Have so much fun in NJ!
ReplyDeleteI hope you all have an enjoyable week. I will be praying for you.. Please don't stay away too long, I enjoy reading your blog too much :)
ReplyDeletePay them no mind. None of the rest of us do. Have a great break.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you misunderstood me and deleted my previous post, it wasn't meant to be negative, only guessing why some other people were leaving undesirable posts. I did not insult you or your family and I feel really bad that you must think so or you would not have deleted me. As I stated, you and your family is and will continue to be on my prayer list as well as the hundreds of others that I have shared your information with and asked to pray for you. The whole point I was trying to make is that I think others misunderstood your comment about 'boring lives' and unfortunatley, you've misunderstood me. I hope you'll take this the right way and leave me posted! I meant no harm! :)
ReplyDeleteLurker coming out to say you guys are amazing and I wish the meanies would go away. Have a very Merry Christmas and great holiday away!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless you Nate. Prayers and thoughts are always with you, Tricia and your girly girl. Have a beautiful christmas.
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs to you all as always.
ReplyDeleteRachaelx
HI Nate
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely DO what is best for you and the family but don't let them 'win.'
xoLo
@Chloe
ReplyDelete1) Don't assume things about me and why I delete comments. I did not misunderstand you, nor did I delete your previous comment because I was insulted.
2) Don't assume that you know how my other readers will respond to what I write (so far, I've only heard from one person who may have misunderstood my "boring" joke, and after a brief explanation, she apologized for doubting me).
3) Read the comments section under my recent "Welcome Home Kisses" post.
4) Try to understand that people not understanding my jokes is at the bottom of the "annoying things that make me want to stop blogging and never look at a computer again" list. People trying to tell me that they think my readers might respond poorly to something meant as a joke is much higher on that list.
@Lola and Jennifer
ReplyDeleteI don't understand what "winning" has to do with me not posting...
In fact, when I stop spending time posting on the blog, and use that time with and for my family, they and I win.
It seems to me, this blogging break will be good for some of my readers as well...
I, like many others, have become addicted to your blog. Enjoy your "break" and we are all looking forward to hearing about everything when you come back. Have a safe trip. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHeather~Massachusetts
sorry about the negagive comments you got on your blog! Some people are just really mean!!! Try to let it roll off your back.
ReplyDeleteI hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!
I'll miss your updates, but understand about taking a break. Enjoy spending time with your loved ones. Have a very Merry Christmas!
ReplyDelete~Sara in MD
I will miss the blogging, but have a great break! By the way, I LOVE the pics of Gwyneth and her left hand...I just hope ya'll are catching the hint that she wants some "Bling" for Christmas!!!
ReplyDeleteHope your trip is wonderful. The house looks GREAT! It will be so exciting once you get all moved in. Congrats and Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteNate, while I will miss reading, I also understand the need for a bloggie break. I take them frequently. Enjoy your trip. Don't give the negative people what they want.
ReplyDeleteNate I don't know why people are bitter and say some of the things they do, I think maybe they have a very unhappy and troubled life and they try to make others miserable also because they are jealous of their happiness. I had problems with a couple of women on a surrogacy forum and they just were relentless attacking me, they even followed me to another support group when I left theirs, and then started to send nasty emails. They were the moderators and had access to my private info, so it happens everywhere. I blocked those emails and stopped going on the support groups which is sad, but I made a few friends from them that support me privately. I am sorry for these people trying to bring you down, but please don't let it even touch you, you are a good man and god knows that and we all know it, you guys are a beautiful family and an inspiration....Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteResponse to Milepost 13:
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, you aren't very kind to a little old lady are you? I've only read your blog with pleasure and shared it with hundreds of others in my prayer circle so that the word to pray for your family is spread. Now that you have revealed a bit of your true character to me, I will not return to this site. My heart is sad for you.
good to take a break once and a while
ReplyDeleteIt saddens my heart to hear that people are leaving mean comments. You would think they could find something constructive to do. I will miss reading about the latest and greatest, but sometimes we all just need a break. Enjoy your girls and getting that house finished. Will look forward to your return.
ReplyDeleteElaine from MT
Well there seems to always be a bad apple in every bunch! So sorry this has happened...again!! Enjoy your week with your family and know you will be missed! Absence makes the heart grow fonder! hee hee :-) I don't post very often but I wanted to let you know that I am always praying for all of you! God Bless you all!
ReplyDeleteRenee
From the glimpse of yourself that you give through your writings on your blog, I can not for the life of me fathom what negative thoughts or comments anyone could possibly have, let alone have the audacity to share with you. I'll never understand the few people that are like that. I understand your need for a break!
ReplyDeleteThe happiest of holidays to you and your precious family, and safe travels!
P.S. Your floors look amazing! Nice work!
Merry Christmas to your lovely family !! Enjoy the time off and can't wait to read more after your break !
ReplyDeleteHere's a friendly comment to make up for all the negativity: have a lovely Christmas in NJ with the family and be safe and sound and enjoy the bloggy break.
ReplyDeleteOh I hope you, Tricia and your sweet little girl have fun here in my town. I am just about 8 minutes from where you are (not sure exactly but know your SIL J and she lives close. :) Maybe she'll let me see you if your schedule is not busy (yeah right). :) I'm good at baking so maybe if you tell me your favorite cookie (was it chocolate chip that I saw on one of your blog entries?-LOL) i'll bake them for you all.
ReplyDeleteI also am happy for you to have a new house and like seeing/hearing the progress about it. I am also sad you are getting negative emails. It's hard not to read them and hope it doesn't waste your precious time you have with your family that God gave you.
I hope all is going well for you and your family. I appreciate your need for a break from your blog. But I do have to tell you that I am missing you and your family.
ReplyDelete@Chloe
ReplyDeleteOK, Chloe...if I were in your shoes, I'd probably not come back either if I thought as poorly of me as you do...
It is amazing to me how my "true character" is only evident in a few comments and not in 16 months worth of posts...maybe it's the same character throughout, but peoples' hurt feelings cloud their ability to see that?
BTW, I'd love for you to tell me and all of my readers what it is about my "true character" that you find so objectionable. I have not said anything derogatory about you, nor have I been unkind in anything I've said to you up to this point. I will admit that I was short and to the point with you in my previous comment, but that had more to do with my time availability than my character...I'm sorry that you're feelings were hurt. And remember, I only first responded to you when you actually questioned my motives because I deleted your comment (which, obviously, made you upset, which, obviously, changed your opinion about me).
Please, don't be sad for me...if you are truly who you say you (meaning, if you've truly been reading my blog for as long as you have), you should know better than to be sad for me. I understand, better than most, the blessings that I've been given, and I take great joy in living each day with thankfulness for those blessings...if that hasn't been made clear, as well as my "true character" over the the past year, I am not the one you should feel sad for.
Also, how easy is it for you, or anyone, for that matter, to post anonymously (as you are doing, since you do not have a user profile) and try to tell me how I have erred AND question my character? And, then when your feelings get hurt, you tell me you're not coming back and not even give me a chance to respond to your accusations (yes, questioning my character is something I consider to be a serious accusation). Tell me where/how you'll ever claim any responsibility for the things you've said here?
Chloe sounds a little passive aggressive to me.
ReplyDeleteIt's okay...I expect you to delete this... lol
Missy...I'll leave your comment up. Since I've responded publicly to Chloe, I don't mind if others do as well, as long as it is in a respectful way (hint, hint). I rarely respond to comments, but I feel it's needed when my character is called into question...
ReplyDeleteNate,
ReplyDeleteRemember Philippians 4:8....think on what is true! You are loved by the God of the universe, and oh how merciful He has been to your family. I love reading your blog and seeing His handiwork in your family. Blessed Christmas to you!
Arrghhhh!! I forgot you weren't posting right now.
ReplyDeleteOh well...
Merry Christmas
Thought this was a good time to send cyber hugs to you and your girls (((())))
ReplyDelete:-)
Chloe-
ReplyDeleteWhen Nate responded to your comment, it was respectful and to the point. He was clear and understanding. He was never disrepectful. Never hurtful. He never critizised you.
You, however, claim to know this man based on one response read in the heat of emotions.
You say that you have been a long time reader. I wonder if you truly are. If you have been a reader as long as i have you would know that Nate is a deep, caring, understanding, faithful and respectful human being.
Chloe--he was defending his readers and himself. And he did it with class.
Nate? I wish i could apologize for chloe. However that is something she needs to to.
Instead, i wish you and yours a very merry!
God bless
Suzanne
First of all, Nate, I'm sorry you have to deal with losers. But, by quitting blogging for however long has told them that they got to you and they won. If you needed a break to go to NJ or just to rest, you should have just said that. Not blame mean people. That's what they want to hear. That they upset you enough to make you stop blogging. Not cool.
ReplyDelete@Meg
ReplyDeleteSee my comment @Lola and Jennifer above.
You know I love reading your Blogs, I love to hear all of the wonderful things that are happening and HOW great the girls are doing. I am truly sorry that you get NEGATIVE people that feel they have to write negative things. It truly is a shame. I wish you and your FAMILY HAPPY HAPPY HOLIDAYS :-)
ReplyDeleteYour house is coming along..looking great! Certainly understand about taking a break. I love your blog and reading your posts and I can't wait to see what you write about next! Hope that you and your lovely family have a wonderful holiday season. Wishing you all the best. Take care..{{HUGS}} to that precious baby. Thank you so much for sharing your story.
ReplyDeleteyes take a break and enjoy the dang holidays with your precious family. We'll miss you but we totally understand.
ReplyDeleteMerry Chrismtas Nate, Tricia, and Gwyn!
Lynsey
I don't understand why people feel the need to be negative, but I understand your need to take a break. I hope yall have a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteI was really just stopping by to wish you and your girls a very Merry Christmas just in case I don't make it back by to comment before then (even though I read daily.)
Good plan: delete and forget.
ReplyDeleteJust this week I encouraged a blog-friend to delete a really creepy comment - she didn't know how at first, but she does now!
I usually attribute a new, erm, unusual spate of spam to some other business I have done on the internet. 'Course, cyberspace is a magical place for me. I only understand human physiology. chkl. Barbara
We will miss you in "bloggerland" but totally understand. I find that the most negative and critical people are among the least happy of all - and it spills over, trying to ruin the happiness of everyone around. I am glad you don't let it ruin anything!
ReplyDeleteI love your posts so dont stay away too long. Merry Christmas to you, Tricia and Miss Gwyneth and have a wonderful trip to NJ.
Oh yeah - this is baby's 1st Christmas, isn't it? and the 1st in the new house? What a great way to end this incredible year!!
What kind of horrible person would post a negative comment about this blog?!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't even want to know.
Now, ahem, for a more Christian attitude....Have a wonderful Christmas with your beautiful little family.
I hope your NJ trip is going great!! Thinking of you guys today!
ReplyDeletejust stopping by to say i miss your posts! i am a loyal reader and dont post comments usually but, i thought i would today! you are such a blessing to me and my family. we pray for you regularly. i am so sorry that people feel the need to be so hurtful and nasty sometimes. know that they are in the minority! :) i hope you have a WONDERFUL christmas! -Love and hugs from Heather in Rochester NY
ReplyDeleteover 48 hours and Chloe has not responded...I guess she held true to her word of not coming back. I'll chalk that up as a good thing...
ReplyDeleteHeh! Perhaps she just can't respond when faced with a valid reply?
ReplyDeleteCan't come up with more than vicious, empty words?
Nathan, wishing you and yours a beautiful holiday.
God Bless
Suzanne
Hey Nate! Here's wishing you guys a VERY HAPPY Holidays and many blessings for the coming New year! I may not see you around on here but I hope I'll see you around on our other forums!
ReplyDeleteIt boggles my mind that anyone would say something negative about you or your family... crazy!
Even way out here on the West Coast in California, we are "hearing" the good news of Tricia and Gwyneth!!
Merry Christmas!
