You may have heard by now that Tricia and I are going to France this summer for a week with my band to play some music and offer our time and energy to serving the people of Grenoble. We're stoked as this will be the first time that Tricia and I will go together on an overseas trip.
My good friend, bandmate and killer photographer, Rich Coleman and I have teamed up for an event that will both offer affordable family photos and help raise support for our trip.
"Family Photos for Team France" will take place on Saturday, April 17.
ColemanShots and Nathan Lawrenson Photography are teaming up to offer family photo sessions in exchange for a donation to the MilePost13 Band's trip to Grenoble, France.
These sessions are specifically available to anyone who wants "family" photos.
Photo sessions will take place outdoors at The Elizabethan Gardens on Saturday, April 17. Sessions with either Rich Coleman or Nathan Lawrenson are available at:
9am
10am
11am
12pm
2pm
3pm
4pm
5pm
This means that there are only 16 sessions available (only 13 sessions now). Photo sessions are scheduled for 55 minutes each, although depending on the size and cooperation of each family, a session could be as quick at 30 minutes.
Photo sessions of this kind are typically valued at around $200, but our goal is both to offer you an affordable option for family photographs and to raise financial support for Team France. To learn more about Team France, please visit http://nhc2france.blogspot.com
You can learn more about this event at our Facebook Event, "Family Photos for Team France". If you are interested in participating in this event, please visit the Facebook event page and follow the instructions for setting up a session.
And, you can check out my latest photo shoot on my Photo Blog!
Thanks!
Nate
SHUT uP!!!!!! :) how cool ARE YOU and Tricia!!!!!!!!!!!! We spent 3 months in the south of france last year!!!!!! you will LOVE IT THERE!!!!! We stayed in Lyon (about 90 minutes from Grenoble!!!!) What a total blessing YOU WILL BE!!!!!! The French believers there will just be so refreshed with your presence! We were so blessed to meet with the ICCL (International Christian Community of Lyon) they are wonderful! There are so many Missionaries in France... we found out while there, that France is VERY under evangelized, more so than many 3rd world nations...
ReplyDeleteoooo i am sooo excited...
NOT only will you be so blessed, but you will be such a blessing to believers there...
If I can bless you with ANY information about the areas surrounding PLEASE email me, or check out our blog... we were in france, April, may, june & July of last year :) sooo soo cool!!!!!!!!
you will be so blessed!!!
we LOVE France and found the people SOOO warm!
:)
Bon VOYAGE!!!!!!
i realize you also wish to SHARE the gospel :)
ReplyDeleteby saying you will "bless the believers" i did not mean to imply you would not be sharing with unbelievers :)
i just meant that so many there do share, day in day out... they are in the trenches of a very anti christian culture, and fresh faces, full of the LOVE of Christ will be an encouragement to them to PRESS ON :) you and your bride are so full of the Grace and Truth of JESUS Christ, you will let HIS light shine amongst all men, and I am excited for those who are to come to Christ...
and those who are to be encouraged :)
:) you all are lovely and lOVED!!

Dang, I wish I could be there for this! We need a new family pic & we've actually scheduled an appt at a new local studio for that same Saturday! I'll be thinking about y'all while I smile & try to suck in my stomach. :)
ReplyDeleteI studied in Grenoble three years ago and it is BEAUTIFUL. You and Tricia will have a fantastic time!
ReplyDeleteOh come on Nate...there's so many people out here who love you and your family, we'd just love to send y'all on the trip by simply contributing whatever's needed! Is Tricia's health good enough to travel? What're you doing with Gwyneth? What's the best way to send donations?
ReplyDeleteNathan,
ReplyDeleteHave Tricia email me, I have been wanting to send Sweet Baby G some new bows and clippies!!!
Many Blessings,
Jill
What a fabulous opportunity! Hope you raise lots of money so that you all can have a great time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great time you'll have...Grenoble was the nicest place to visit, and there were so many interesting places to see! Please be sure to eat a chocolate croissant for me. I wish I lived near enough for a photo session!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great vacation, but I am just not so sure of why. There are so many, many people in this country in need, dire circumstances, lost, alone, afraid. I hope you have a nice time, but I am wondering why? I know this area of France very well. Winter sport, summer wonder. It is a beautiful spot. Lots of things to do. Whereas, I am spending several weeks in a very depressed area of this country, working with those who want to believe but have yet to take the step.
ReplyDeleteI understand this is your thing, and that is cool.
@Kathryn
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you're getting an opportunity to travel and serve people! I guess our trip might sound like a great vacation to some, but we'll be spending most of our time in service.
While our trip can certainly be considered "humanitarian", it's so much more than that. Less than 1% of the the people of France have a personal relationship with God. Beyond simply serving people in need, our desire is to see people come to know God in a very real way. The Bible says that the story of Jesus has the power to change lives of all people, regardless of nationality, race, gender, social status or wealth. Without a relationship with Christ, without somebody sharing the love of God with them, all people, regardless of their life on earth, will have the same eternity. That is "my thing".
There is a season for everything. I have also been to third world countries, serving people who have nothing and who are dying because of their situation. But, this particular trip is not about that. Our band has been specifically invited because of La FĂȘte de la Musique. Another trip may find us in another part of the world, doing something completely different.
Thanks, Nate. We do this every summer. We stay w/in the US, and work at rebuilding lives by rebuilding homes, churches, community halls, etc. Fellowship is great! People from all over come to an area and just get busy.
ReplyDeleteAww man! I'm so sorry I just found your blog today! My husband and I could use some good pictures of us, we'll be celebrating our first anniversary on April 26! We were married in Corolla... so we're so close to you! Is there any way that you could send me some pricing info? I'd really appreciate it!

I'm sorry, but asking people for donations so you and your family can go to France? wow, just wow. I'm sorry, but if you can't afford to pay your own way, you need to stay home.People living above their means or relying on other people's handouts = why today's economy sucks as bad as it does. Mr. Lawrenson, a little personal responsiblity please!
ReplyDelete@M
ReplyDeleteCould you please tell me where I ever wrote that I was raising financial support for myself? Could you please tell me where I said that "my family" was going to France? Could you please tell me where I said that I can't afford to pay for this trip on my own?
You're making a lot of assumptions here. I'm not going to waste my time here trying to explain it to you, but, if you'd like to learn more about our trip and perhaps receive a bit more info so you're educated and don't have to make so many simple assumptions, feel free to email me.
Thanks!
