A lot happened today that I want to share about, and I'd normally split this up into a few posts for easy reading, but I need to get to bed soon, so stay with me.
I ended up spending the night at the hospital again last night. I got a nice 4 hour nap in yesterday afternoon, and somehow, with just a few minutes of sleep last night (giving me plenty of time to create that slideshow), I still feel like I could go for a few more hours. Agnes is staying with Tricia tonight, and I'll relieve her about 7 tomorrow morning so she can come "home" (our guest bedroom) and catch up on sleep. Without Agnes here, I'd be a dead man for sure.
I returned home about 9am this morning, got a 2 hour nap, and went back to the hospital because there were a lot of people coming to see us. When I got to the hospital, Tricia was sleeping, and continued to sleep for over 2 hours, barely even moving (thank you God and those of you who were praying). I pray she sleeps just as well tonight for several more hours, and that Agnes can sleep some as well.
By the time Tricia woke up around 1pm, about 15 people were hanging out waiting to see her. Agnes and I washed her hair, and she was feeling very good and ready for her guests.
First up: one of my best friends from high school, Brent and (girlfriend) Katie (marry that girl!). Thanks for the beautiful Apple Blossom!
Next up, some of our best friends from our days in VA Beach, Zach and Brandie. We love you guys so much (where's my hat?)!
Then, a few more awesome friends from our VA Beach days, Aaron, Pam & Stacy with an awesome digital picture frame of some of our old VB hang-outs.
Next, aunt Donna (with my grandma below), uncle Scott, aunt Julie and cousin Bree. Family means everything to us (somehow, Scott didn't make the pics)!
Finally, great friends Whitney and Margot from home with some encouraging words from the Church of the OBX.
Guests are both energizing and draining for Tricia, but we always appreciate them.
Nate

ReplyDeleteNate and Tricia, I wish so bad we had known of you all a few months ago. I ran in the OBX half marathon. We would love to have visited your church. If we are there next year we will definitely stop in.

ReplyDelete"Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life."
Thanks Nate for allowing us time with you and Tricia today. It was truly a blessing. We are praying for peace of mind, heart and soul.
ReplyDeleteLove you,
Scott, Julie, Bree and Carly
Nate and Tricia,
ReplyDeletePraying for you, as always! I've also employed everyone I know to do the same. May the Lord grant you peace in this time and continue to give you the strength to press on for the glory of His Name. We love you!
