Tricia's medical team (all 30+ of them) met today at 1:30 and presented an alternate plan which we are going to go with. Tricia will be intubated and ventilated tomorrow morning at 10:30am. They will watch her for a few hours. If everything looks good, they'll give her a tracheotomy. They'll leave her on the ventilator for a few days, allowing her body to regain strength and her lungs to get cleaned out, and then will perform the c section on Friday.
If her body does not like the ventilator, they will perform an emergency c section then and there.
All of the prayer from the post below remains the same...only the timing has changed.
We continue to be amazed at the number of people praying and the very cool stories coming our way. Thank you.
Here are this mornings pics of Gwyneth Rose. She has Tricia's nose and my lips for sure.

ReplyDeleteMy prayers are with you and your family during this critical time. I completely understand the power of prayer....my son's story was featured on the front page of the Christmas Day News & Observer paper and I truly believe if it wasnt for all the people praying for him, he would not be here. Be strong and know that God will take care of you all.

I came upon your blog from Jordan and Patience. I'm praying for you all and believe that nothing is too great for God.
ReplyDeleteFour years ago I had pulmonary hypertension and got pregnant. Duke's doctors had 4 meetings with me to abort but my husband and I decided not to. When I went into the hospital w/ heart & lung complications we were informed that either my son or I would die (the chance of both of us living was ZERO). I actually signed papers telling Duke what to do with my corpse.
We still trusted that God would perform some miracle that no one would understand. During delivery I did die and was miracously revived and now both my four year old and I are alive today.
Even in the darkest hours keep your face toward the heavens for the light that only God can shine. The verse that God kept speaking to us was Jeremiah 29:11. He knew the plans for us not the doctors nor anyone else. Him, God alone, knew them.
I will keep your entire family in my thoughts and prayers. Our family has been personally touched by CF and know how difficult it can be to live with. Best wishes for Tricia and Gwyneth.

ReplyDeleteBro Bill says you can add Grace Lutheran to the list of churches praying for you guys.
Tricia, You are amazing. Your strength these last several weeks has been truly inspirational. I know your timing for this baby will be perfect because God knows when Gwyneth should be delivered and I know you are completely in His will. I ask God for perfect little lungs and heart for Gwyneth. I ask God for cooperation between your body and the intubation. God blessed you and Nathan with such a wonderful gift and He will not stop there.. I know you both will be blessed to soon become and enjoy being a family together. I love you Tricia, and continue to lift you up to our Lord.

P.s. Tricia - I was trying to come up with some funny times we've shared to distract you for a few seconds - remember when Jess, Suse, and I came down to visit and we all hung our head out the window of someone's (?) car and sang "I'm Like a Bird"? Hahaha...just thought that was funny! Hahaha...I also remember taking Bio I at CCC with Dr. Winkie, but that wasn't as funny!
We will be anxiously waiting the news after 1030 tomorrow. Praying for your miracle. Blessings from Florida.

Finally Free - Nichole Nordeman
ReplyDeleteNo chain is strong enough
No choice is wrong enough
No mountain high enough that He
can't climb
No shadow dark enough
No night is black enough
No road is lost enough that He can't find
And if the Son has set us free
Then we must be, free indeed
Let the chains fall away, starting today
Everything has changed
I'm finally free
No pain is deep enough
No heart could bleed enough
Nothing but Jesus' love can make a way
And if the Son has set us free
Then we must be, free indeed
Let the chains fall away, starting today
Everything has changed
I'm finally free
-Tonight I'm praying for freedom from anxiety, fear and doubt that must be crushing at times. Instead I pray for a peace that passes all understanding to envelop your ICU room, the OR, and every place that your family abides.

Two songs keep coming to my head as I think of you all this week...
ReplyDelete"Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name"...Blessed Be the Name of the Lord!!!
And...
Lord You seem so far away
A million miles or more it feels today
And though I haven't lost my faith
I must confess right now
That it's hard for me to pray
But I don't know what to say
And I don't know where to start
But as You give the grace
With all that's in my heart
Chorus:
I will sing I will praise
Even in my darkest hour
Through the sorrow and the pain
I will sing I will praise
Lift my hands to honor You
Because Your Word is true
I will sing
Lord it's hard for me to see
All the thoughts and plans You have for me
But I will put my trust in You
Knowing that You died to set me free
But I don't know what to say
And I don't know where to start
But as You give grace
With all that's in my heart
I am praying for you and your entire family as you approach tomorrow--praying for peace, hope, joy, and a miraculous outcome!
