White Rose Blooming (10 Weeks)

Every Tuesday while you're in the hospital, we'll take a picture with your pug so that everyone can see how much you are growing!

You are still a little bit bigger than 12 inches long, and you reached a big milestone by finally making it to 2lbs!!!

Your tenth week was very interesting. You started off by deciding that you need a break from breathing on your own, so they put you back on the vent. But, just within a few days, you moved to the CPAP and then back to the nasal cannula! And, you really love sucking on your pacifier.

You spent all week in the same room, out of contact isolation. Your daddy was able to hold and touch you, and you even made you first live internet debut while some of your family looked on! Your mommy was able to visit with you a few more times as well, although she's a little sick now and hasn't been able to see you the past few days.

In the next week, we're praying that you'll continue to grow and and experience more new things!

We love you!

  11. YAY for Gywneth reaching her 2 lb milestone! The extra weight looks wonderful on her! She has really filled out since birth and looks much more baby-like now, rather than fetus-like..is that even a word? hehe. Looks like she is responding very well to the great care in the NICU and growing as she should! How many ounces does Gywneth eat now? Has she been able to start the bottle yet? I see she has already mastered the pacifier ! Hope Tricia can get to visit her baby again soon! She must miss her terribly!

  12. Kind of wierd to think that 8 1/2 sticks of butter weighs more than Gwynie.

  13. Nate & Tricia-
Your beautiful White Rose is growing so big :) She looks beautiful! I had my first baby 7 weeks ago and I can relate to that love for your daughter that you never knew exsisted its one of God's great blessing's. I know Gwyneth is gonna be bigger than you and Tricia before you know it. Enjoy this time now of her not walking and talking. It will take you 2 years to teach her how to walk and talk and then you and Trcia will spend the rest of your lives telling her to sit down and be quiet! LOL I keep you all in my prayers daily. Thank you for sharing your story of Faith, Love, and Life with me.

  18. 2 lbs... way to go!!! Just wait til the day when you post that photo of her with the drool-encased, chocolate-milk stained, worn-from-so-much-lovin' pug tucked under her arm as she toddles across the beach holding her Mommy's hand. (And of course, inside that Mommy are two shiny new (well... slightly used...) lungs!

  19. She's getting so big - two pounds! Yay! Does her taking to the pacifier mean a bottle isn't too far off?

  20. Gwyneth,

  21. It seems to me that she looks a lot bigger than when she was born even though she hasn't even gained a pound yet. Is it just because she is so small that we can really tell a difference with each ounce?

    She is so precious.

  24. I want to ask a question but am afraid that it will offend you. Please know I'm not asking this to be rude in any way. My question is sincere.

Is there any reason that Gwyneth isn't gaining weight/growing in length faster than she is? At 10 weeks old, she'd be around 35 weeks gestation.... is it unreasonable to think she would be about the same size as a baby who remained in-utero? Even if slower growth is expected, is it unusual for a micropreemie to gain just over a half-pound and not really grow in length in 10 weeks?

Again, I am NOT trying to be hurtful or rude in the slightest by asking this question. I am asking out of a genuine wish to know.

Your daughter is precious & I'm so happy that she continues to do so well in NICU.
