White Rose Blooming (8 Weeks)

Every Tuesday while you're in the hospital, we'll take a picture with your pug so that everyone can see how much you are growing!

You are still a little bit bigger than 12 inches long, and you gained some weight this week and you are now a little bit more 1lb 13oz.

Your eighth week was even better than your seventh! You were taken off of any kind of breathing machine and you're now breathing completely on your own with a little bit of extra oxygen! And, you're eating more almost every day!

You mommy came down to see you several times, and, for the first time ever, on your eight week birthday, she was able to hold you! You also had another negative MRSA swab, which means you should be out of contact isolation by next week, which means your daddy can touch you again without gloves on!

In the next week, we're praying that you'll continue to do breathe well on your own, and that you'll gain some more weight. We're still praying that your mommy will get her new lungs soon, and that maybe we'll get to feed you with a bottle for the first time.

We love you!

She is closing in on that 2lb mark...how amazing is she...You can really see that she has grown over past few weeks, filling out and beginning to take on a different look! Our God is so good! Just praying she continues on the path of healing and for another negative swab!

That little pug's name is Caitlyn at our house, so we know exactly how big Gwyneth is. Amazing. Just the right size for Mom to manage. Except for the hat thing...little girls just have minds of their own! May you thank God for every wardrobe battle (and let her wear what she wants!).

Way to go, Little Rose...you gained three ounces this week. That's quite a bit for a tiny little girl like you that only weighs 29 ounces all together! I'm cheering for you to hit 2# by next week!

Still praying for all 3 of you from Dallas! Gwyneth is amazing!!! What a miracle. So happy Tricia got to hold her. Gwyneth's expressions were priceless. I am sure this will help Tricia's strength and recovery. Thank you again for sharing your lives with us!

What a blessing that she's doing so well! She's just as beautiful as ever, if not more so :-) The pug, on the other hand, is beginning to look a bit scrawny. May I also just speak to how organized you are with managing your website..? You are very consistant -- and you do a great job managing it. Just something that I noticed...just wanted to point that out! I'm so glad that Tricia got to hold her precious rose. I bet it was a surreal experience for her! Will this be something that can happen on a regular basis now...?

What awesome pictures and awesome news that Tricia finally got to hold her. It is so difficult when you cannot hold your child. Praising God with you for this wonderful time.

She's looking so great these days! She looks so much more comfy without all the extra stuff on her, too!
I just watched the video too... so many tears- I'm so happy that Mommy got to hold her itty bitty. I would not be suprised if she starts growing a lot faster now that Tricia has held her!- and even more so once they can actually have a little bit of skin contact. Oh my goodness- what an answer to prayer.

What beauty God has created! It is amazing that she is so small and weighs so little; yet, she is breathing on her own! Praise God for His Plan for your family. Always praying in GA.

Each week as Gwyneth is getting bigger but I'm having a harder and harder time telling how big she is in relation to something we know. I can compare her with the pug... but I have no idea how big the pug really is.

Maybe one day (not necessarily on her "weekly" update) you could put a dollar bill next to Gwyneth so we can tell how big she is REALLY getting. Most of us can relate to the size of a dollar bill or something similar.

Gweneth continues to grow more beautiful each day (which is pretty hard since she's already so darn cute!). Congratulations proud parents!

Wow. You can really see a big difference in Gwyneth this week. What a glorious blessing from God. I'm so happy that Tricia was able to hold her finally. There's nothing like that feeling you get. (Well, you know!) I pray that you all have a blessed day and that God will deliver the perfect set of lungs for Tricia.

As mom of a baby born at 27 1/2 weeks (we lost his twin), I know how very important that first hold is. There is nothing like it, especially after waiting so long.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Your strength amazes me.

She is looking healthier every week. Are the doctors concerned about her weight or do they think she is right on track? She has a fighter spirit and will do miraculous things with her life. Her mom is a miracle and she is too. I hope you have a great week!
