Tricia had her last big chest tube pulled yesterday, which means, other than her feeding tube which can be turned on and off at any time, she is not strapped to anything for the first time in a very long time. She is walking without the help of the walker now, and was really moving fast last night.
As we circled her hall last night, I was able to hold her hand without gloves for the first time since early January. I can't tell you how incredible that was for me.
And, the biggest new of all...Tricia is scheduled to be discharged tomorrow (Tuesday, April 22)!!!
I'll be super busy between now and then, so if you don't read much from me over the next few days, don't be worried. I'll be sure to let you know what's going on when I can.
Thanks!
Nate

ReplyDeleteWonderful, wonderful news.
Texas sends an enormous "Yahoo"!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH!!!! I am so excited for you and even more excited for Tricia!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's great news! My husband and I are acquaintances with your dad, we've visited your church a couple of times, my husband went to high school with your Uncle Scott, and I was in a singing group with your Uncle Mark in high school. All of that to say that we feel connected to your family and are thrilled at how God is blessing each of you. As someone who greatly desires "physical touch and closeness" to give and receive love, I can imagine how great it was to have skin contact with Tricia yesterday. It's hard for me to fathom going without that for several months. I pray that God will continue to bless your family with miracles and that you will continue to give all of the glory to Him. We hope to meet you at NHC soon--perhaps this September if we come down.
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic news!!

ReplyDeleteYAY!!! Thank God that you are doing terrific, Tricia!! I'm so glad you are finally free at last from any tubing, aside from the feeding tube. And yep, the best of all of which is being discharged!! A step back into reality and normalcy once again-- at the hotel, that is. I'm certain Gwyn will follow you soon! :-D
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm thrilled that you, Nathan, can hold Tricia's hands without any physical barrier-- it must be sooo nice to be able to caress her hands naturally! :-)
Have a wonderful discharge day tomorrow and I'll be looking forward to seeing photos of Tricia leaving the hospital and finally being with Meka at the hotel, and oh yea, holding hands with you, Nathan!! ;-)
All the best!!
Marissa :-)
amazing:)
ReplyDeleteContinued prayers.
That is amazing! I never imagined that she would be ready to go so soon. What an amazing miracle! I'm sure Tricia still needs lots of medical care and special attention but what a big step. We'll keep praying for her and also for Gwyneth to continue to thrive and be released too. The little things we take for granted, like holding her hand without any barriers. That's awesome!

ReplyDeleteHow amazing is that? :D :D :D
ReplyDeletePraise God. You go Tricia. The tears were flowing when I read this today.
ReplyDeleteHow very exciting! If you have a "supper solutions" near by, you should take advantage. Basically, you go in, pay a certain amount, they have all the ingredients you need, you throw the meals together according to the instructions, and leave with several weeks worth of freezer meals. If I lived near you, I'd bring a meal. I know this is going to be a big transition. But praise the Lord, can you believe you're really here?!

Praise God!
ReplyDeleteYay! Incredible news! I am so happy for all of you...praying for baby Gwyn to get big enough to go home, too. Again, I'm glad you are able to be with Tricia during this time.
