Friday Update from Tricia
Feeling at my weakest now. But I need to be reminded of the grace in my
life & of God's goodness. Thankful for this lesson from the Jesus
Calling, "Thank Me for the very things that are troubling you. You are
tempted to indulge in just a little complaining about My treatment of
you. The best protection against this indulgence
is thanksgiving. It is impossible to thank Me and curse Me at the same
time...your thankful words, prayed in faith, will eventually make a
difference in your heart. Thankfulness awakens you to My Presence, which
overshadows all your problems."

ReplyDeleteI am encouraged and inspired by your comment. What I have been doing make me feel stupid and bad. I was wondering what is God telling me by all this. I know now what I needed to do is to thank Jesus.
ReplyDeleteThank you and I will pray for you and your family from Japan.
Life isn't always easy or fair. I think we are all entitled to a little complaining from time to time. Hugs.

ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this. It is so true.
ReplyDeleteHi Tricia,
ReplyDeleteI feel as if I know you just a bit from you and Nathan's blogs. We even seem to have some things in common. So when I saw the phrase "The best protection against this indulgence is thanksgiving" I wanted to share a link a friend gave to me. It tells about Ann Voskamp's book "1000 gifts" which I hope to read soon (& has a beautiful trailor about it). But in the meantime Ann's blog uplifts me everday and I've just recently started my own 1000 gifts journal. I hope you find it as encouraging as I have. You continue to be in my prayers!

You can do this! You are doing this! Let each day be a living prayer and let others learn from you. Hold on to your faith... mercy is yours. Special prayers for you. Connie

I've never heard of Jesus Calling and will need to look into it. Your faith and outlook are amazing to me, Tricia. I really do think that gratefulness and praise really do bring contentment and comfort to us. I've been praying for you and your family and continue to do so.
