Hurricane Irene

We are safe and sound, out house is dry. But, the flooding here is historic, never been anything like it. Many people are still without power, some without water or any help because of damaged roads. Thank you for prayer for our community. It will take a long time to recover from this. I'll post some photos and links when I can.

Glad to hear you're safe. What a ride, right? Hugo made us rethink hurricane preparedness. The biggest blessing afterwards was having men with chainsaws gather in the community to help clear the roads and driveways. Then having the power restored would be a close second.

I am so glad that you are all okay. We vacation frequently at the Outer Banks and I am so sad to see all the damage.

What a relief! Sending you plenty of good thoughts from chilly summer in pretty wet Belgium.

Glad you are okay. My family knows how it feels to go through a Hurricane. My parents lost everything to Hurricane Ike 3 years ago. I think so many people have forgot what happened to so many people with Hurricane Katrina, Rita and Ike. I hope these people that suffered damage from Hurricane Irene are able to recovery a little quicker then those folks have. Sherri

thank-you for letting us know - I heard about the storms, here in the UK, and when it said NC, I instantly thought of you guys. I hadn't checked in on the blog for a while, and it was a thrill to see Gwyneth getting so grown up. Continuing to remember you guys in prayer. x

I actually saw some pictures of Nag's Head in our newspaper here in Belgium! I cannot even imagine how it must feel to live there right now. Warm thoughts,
