November 1 Update

Tricia has had a few rough weeks.  Her breathing is continuing to become more difficult.  She had had a consistent low grade fever.  Yesterday she had her portacath replaced because it may have been infected, and sure enough she woke up today without a fever.  Her lung infection remains but doesn't seem to be getting any worse.

Her doctors explained to us yesterday that they want her to add a few more pounds and continue to build her strength up before listing her for a transplant.  She is getting nearly 100% of her calories from her feeding tube now.  Her docs emphasize how critical a position Tricia is in...how close to dying she is right now.  We continue to covet your prayers.

Nate

Nathan and Tricia,
God's arms are so much more comforting than mine but I'll pray so hard for you both. I'm so sorry for what Tricia, you, and your family are being tested with now.

Thank you for the updates. I've been following your story since before Gwyneth was born, and before Tricia's first transplant. Praying for you all from up in the Seattle area.

Your family is beautiful. I've been following you since the beginning and because I live fairly close (an hour and a half) I feel as if we're neighbors. I do not believe it's Tricia's time to leave her baby girl and the love of her life. Paryers flow for you all.

Is she in the hospital or at home (rather, your home away from home)? I hope the infection clears and she is able to gain weight and strength and get on the transplant list. I hope you and your family fared OK in the hurricane, too. Thinking of you.

I have been following your blog for a number of years and have always been struck by how radiant and light-filled Tricia is. I am focusing on that now, willing that light to continue shining, for that spark within her to be bright, despite great trials. Holding all of you in my heart. Praying for miracles once again.

Nathan, you and your precious family are for sure in our thoughts and prayers. I pray God's healing and His great mercies for each of you during this most difficult time. I also pray for His wisdom for you. As you all face the decisions that come with such a critical situation, only you can understand that depth of pain. I pray His blessed peace and love will surround you all.

I am the Lord your God, I go before you now
I stand beside you, I'm all around you
Though you feel I'm far away, I'm closer than your breath
I am with you, more than you know

I am the Lord your peace, no evil will conquer you
Steady now your heart and mind, come into My rest
Oh, let your faith arise, lift up your weary head
I am with you wherever you go

Come to Me, I'm all you need.
Come to Me, I'm everything
Come to Me, I'm all you need.
Come to Me, I'm your everything

I am your anchor, in the wind and the waves
I am your steadfast, so don't be afraid
Though your heart and flesh may fail you, I'm your faithful strength
I am with you wherever you go

Come to Me, I'm all you need.
Come to Me, I'm your everything
Come to Me, I'm all you need.
Come to Me, I'm your everything

Don't look to the right or to the left but keep your eyes on Me
You will not be shaken, you will not be moved ooh
I am the hand to hold, I am the truth, I am the way
Just come to Me, come to Me, cause I'm all that you need

That's great news about the portacath. I really hope that now that she's fever free she will feel better and be able to put on some weight. I know Tricia's health is probably fragile and you need to be careful, but perhaps there might be some high calorie foods you can tube feed. Maybe some melted Haagen-Daaz? I'm not a crazy person, my daughter has had many health "issues" and has been tube fed her whole life, 6 years. Half-and-half also works wonders for putting on weight quickly. Perhaps check with her doctors. Feel free to e-mail me at ainsleyblog@comcast.net if you have any questions. I have prayed that Tricia can get healthy enough to be put onto the transplant list very soon.
