Raw

That's the best word to describe me right now. Nerves, emotions, thoughts and feelings..you can see it in my eyes...

37 hours since we first received word of Tricia's lungs. 12 hours duration between saying goodbye and saying hello. 1 hour of sleep.

Pure Joy. Intense Frustration. Sincere Thankfulness. Exhausted Relief.

I'll sleep well tonight, and I pray Tricia does the same. Tomorrow begins a new chapter in our story. We pray that it is the best yet. Thank you for helping to write it with us.

Rest now Nate. You need it, and Tricia and Gwen will need you to be bright eyed tomorrow. As a nurse, it was amazing to see the difference that a positive attitude of both the patient and their families did for them. I have no doubt that you'll be there for Tricia and be the big goofball that you seem to be (or are?!?). Thank you again for letting us in to view your journey. It has certainly blessed our lives! I renewed my license yesterday and said "yes" to organ donation as well as talked to my husband about it... I only hope that when God takes me home that my organs can bless someone as deserving as tricia! Prayers for all of you!

I had open heart surgery when I was 18 (seven years ago) six week before Dalen and I got married. In my immaturity I can remember being frustrated that he was so worked up about it. Now that I've grown up a little and have begun to understand love I can look back and see that the whole experience was a lot harder on him than it was on me. I don't even really remember my recovery, but he can remember some very scary times. I can never understand what you and your family is going through, but my heart is for you. Blessings! p.s. I'm glad your hair is short.. if you still had the long do the picture just wouldn't be nearly serious enough ;)

I have learned alot about Tric these last 5-6 months,
I have learned Tric is a woman whose faith is second to none...she is blessed with such strength and fight to pull through no matter how the odds are stacked, Tric surpasses them all...
I have learned Tric passed these traits along to her most precious beautiful thriving Gwyneth Rose...
I have learned that Tric & Nathan
are a couple with such a bond,
it is nothing less than a blessed true love in every way...
I have learned that you don't need to lay your eyes on someone to care about them, to think of them
every day... many times through out the day & night...
to pray pretty much... as much as you can for them...
I hope Tric, Nathan, their families and of course Gwyneth too, get a really good nights rest......
As Always Showering You & Yours Lovingly With Prayer's & Sending Many Happy Wishes Your Way
Sincerely
Patricia N.
I also pray for Tric to remain infection & rejection free

Just another thought after things become a bit more stable. You should dedicate a post to the donner family (from your family) and ask your commentors to say a little something. Would that NOT be the coolest thing ever if by some twist of fate the donner family wanted to meet Tricia? Can you imagine the looks and the tears that would come with seeing 500+ posts. I pray that someday you all get the chance to tell them your story it WILL bless them.

I woke up several times through the nite last nite and prayed that you were able to get the sleep you need to stay strong and sharp. I also prayed for Tricia that all things would continue to work in her favor. And, of course for your baby that she would continue to grow strong and stay healthy. I know you have a long road ahead, but look at the miles you've already covered! Praising God for answered prayers!

We are all tired...but most likely not one of us have walked in your shoes these past 3 months and will never know how 'raw' you really are. You are a hero, a kind of superman! Thank you for being so candid. Thank you for the updates. Thank you for caring for Tricia. Thank you for caring about strangers enough to post in your most exhausted state. Thank you for sharing who you truly are. Thank you for including me.

You have walked through the valley of the shadow of death, and yet-you have feared no evil.
Do you realize the power of your testimony, to overcome the fear of death? I give my God praise for your trust in him.

He is good, his truth is everlasting, and his mercies endure forever!

I have never posted before but have been following your story. I am a doctor in an intensive care unit and take care of transplant patients, so it is interesting to me to see the other side of things. Anyway, I am so glad Tricia got her lungs and came through the surgery okay. Good luck in the next stages.

Nate-
I can not begin to imagine how you are feeling. I am praying for you to get some sleep, Tricia to be the fighter that you have conveyed to us she is and little Gwenyth to keep doing what she has been.
Please remember during all of this you have to make time for your needs, including sleep. You will not be good for anyone else if you are not good to yourself first.
God bless you and "your girls."
