The transplant team just walked into our room (10:45 am) and told us that they have another pair of lungs that they are flying out to look at. Based on the little into they gave us, these sound more promising than the last, but there's always a chance this could be another dry run.
We won't know anything for sure until at least mid-afternoon, and if it's a go Tricia should be in surgery by this evening. I'll update as soon as I know something.
Tricia is, understandably, more apprehensive about this call than the last, but we are both praying that this is the one!

I just wanted you guys to know that I joined your journey Jan 17, 2008. Prior to my move to Massachusetts for my husband's job, I was a Nurse at Duke in the ICN for 3 1/2 years. I was the primary Nurse to a 23 weeker who I was with for 5 months prior to my leaving. He has since gone home and is doing more than a lot of people ever thought he would. His parents are Christians and they helped me renew/revitalize my relationship with God. It was through them that I learned of your website/blog, and I have been checking in everyday (sometimes more than once a day). You guys are in my prayers and I hope to continue the journey with you for as long as you will have me.

I have never left you a comment...even though I have been following your story since days before Gwyneth's birth. I'm not even sure how I happened upon your blog, but I have been hooked ever since....checking on you guys at least 3 times EVERY day! Best of luck with the possible transplant surgery tonight...as always...i'll be checking your blog often today! P.S. I will tell you a organ donor story sometime if I am allowed your email address. It involves my husbands best friend who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident last summer and the fact he was an organ donor. I don't know if you'll get to my comment as there are 371 while I'm typing this!! I have never commented before, but wanted to tell you that I am praying that these are the "right" lungs for Tricia. I'm also praying for Gwyneth, that she continues to pack on those pounds (she can have some of mine!) and that the laser treatment on her eyes worked.
My Dad works at CFF as an accountant and so I know firsthand what a wonderful organization it is and how much research they are doing. I have shared your story with him, and he has shared it with others in the CFF organization. What a great way to spread the word about CF!
