Just Another Day At The Beach

Tricia's been spending a girlie weekend in NJ with her mom and sisters and nieces...they made a trip to NYC yesterday to see a Broadway production. So, it's just been me and Gwyneth since Friday morning...we've spent lots of time at the pool and on the beach...

I'm very thankful for the outdoor showers at the beach accesses here...

Oh ny goodness, baby Gwyneth doesn't look so much like a baby anymore. ): Love the pics and as always, they are adorable. Looks as though Meca (sorry if I spelled it wrong) is telling her she looks so nummy, he could just eat her up.

Nate,
Photography question for you. Photos 5 & 6. I don't know the correct terminology for the effect, but how do you fade all the background colors and ONLY highlight her PINK little shirt/dress? I've seen that effect on photos before and I've always wondered how to do it. For instance, I've seen it where all background colors are faded and ONLY one item in photo (perhaps a flower) is colored. Okay, that's my photography 101 question for the day.

P.S. - LOVED the photos ..... as usual.

Baby powder is great for getting sand off of skin! Try it some time!

I love her curiosity about the sea things at the beach.

It seems like she is starting to look less like a "baby" and more like a toddler.

I was also going to say baby powder is good for getting the sand off the baby. I used to keep a container in my beach bag.

Before I got to the end I was gonna say I bet your car is filled with sand!

Aw, she is so cute! I like how she is studying everything, I'm sure she's contemplating a taste. I really love the picture of Gwyneth and Mika (sp?) It looks like the dog is telling her a joke and going "funny, right? funny!"

I hope Tricia took some pictures in NYC to share!

Take care.

Beautiful pictures. I have to agree with several others, she looks like a little Nate Jr. I love how you capture all her expressions. Meka looks like she enjoyed sand as well. Have a great day! Sherri

Don't think I've ever shared on this blog just how much I cannnot stand sand. Just talking about it makes me cringe. Seeing it - ugh. And having to touch/walk in it - nearly a nausiating though. Strange I know.

To say the least - these adorable, yet sandy pix almost put me over the edge of what I can tolerate viewing through my monitor! AHHHHH

Looks like you two had a great time! And the pug too....

Outdoor showers are a lifesaver for those of us with kids. I was just wondering if you had to put her in the car seat like that, lol. Great shots!

What a special and beautiful little girl! I am currently battling Lymphoma (diagnosed 7/1/09) and your wife's story is so uplifting to me (she has been through so much and still pushing forward)- I have been reading for almost a year now- and I thank you for putting your story out there. It has been a long time since I've visited this blog and I am amazed at just how much Gwyneth has grown. She is looking fabulous! Meka is looking as adorable as I remember her enjoying playtime on the beach :-)

Actually, the only use i have ever found for baby powder is at the beach or in the sandbox. It works great to get the sand off! You are such an awesome daddy!

I have a sincere question and I don't mean any disrespect. I am a Christian, but need to learn more about God's priciples for my life. I guess I am a new christian. Anyway when I read Kayleigh Freeman's site, he said kayleigh landed on his wife for 30 minutes and then stayed an me. (in the form of a butterfly)Isn't that re-incarnation? Or is it merely a sign.I have lost a very close loved one. My family used to get on me when I would say I feel her presence. THey said it was'nt biblical. Ghosts and christianity don't go hand in hand. What is your position? I read your blog daily, along with theirs. I just am confused.

oh, sand in the pants....so fun with a girl, isn't it?!! I really like how you take pictures from her point of view/her level. Love the black and white with hint of color too. Hope Tricia had an absolute blast!!

A great tip for getting sand off super easy and without a shower is baby powder. Just rub a little baby powder between your hands and rub on all the sandy body parts. Works amazingly well. We use it when the kids play in the sand box or when we go to the beach. Oh and I agree that your photos are lovely!

I have been a follower since Gynneth was a few days old. God bless you all. I have a question about another blog you turned me onto...what ever happened to STELLEN?

Elaine said...

The pictures are absolutely breathtaking. I find myself looking at them over and over again. I can't believe how much Gwyneth has grown.
Sorry to be nosey, but is everything ok in your neck of the woods? Haven't seen any updates or new pics in a week.
