It appears that the NMDP is not making this easy...I contacted them to inform them of the difficulties and to ask if they could make it easier. For now, follow the directions below, and, hopefully, you'll be able to register for free.
Go to www.marrow.org
On the right side of the screen, under "Events" click on the link that says "NASCAR Foundation Drive"
About 3/4 of the way down that page, click "Join online now"
Fill in the online info and the Promo Code will automatically generate
Beyond organ and tissue donation, another huge need is bone marrow donors. Fortunately, you don't have to be dead to donate bone marrow, but you do need to be registered and tested. Over 6000 people are currently searching for a bone marrow match.
Through September 22, the National Marrow Donor Program is waving the normal fees for registration (usually about $50).
Because we have a family member who may need a bone marrow donor at some point, this is something that we are very passionate about. Please, consider Registering Today!
Thanks!

Story of Local CF Girl
As some of you may remember, as we were planning for last year's Great Strides Walk, a few CF families from Elizabeth City (about 1 hour away) became involved in our walk, helping us organize and ultimately raising a large portion of the money raised at last years walk. When Mary Soria, CFer Seth's grandmother (and, please, pray for Seth as he's had a recent bout of pneumonia) first showed up at one of our meetings, I told her and the others there that one of my personal goals was to see her and the others from E. City start their own walk ASAP.
Sure enough, Mary, along with Cindy Winslow and several others are having their first Great Strides Walk the same day and time as our walk this Saturday. On Tuesday, an article in The Daily Advance was written about Cindy's daughter, Reilly. You can read the article Here.

If you live near the E. City area, please, consider attending the walk (info can be found in the article).
Thanks!
Nate

Back Pain
Tricia's experiencing a lot of back pain, including spasms. It could be caused by several things, and she's going to be check out today. She didn't sleep at all last night. We'd appreciate your thoughts and prayers today.
Thanks.
Nate
BTW, I fixed the bone marrow link, so, it should lead you to the FREE registration now.

(Bump) The Stanfields
The Stanfields blog was hacked into and deleted. For updates, you can visit marygracesummons.blogspot.com. I'm flattered by the fact that people expect me to know so much, but many of the people I link on my blog are not people I know any more than you, which is why I haven't responded to any of the hundreds of emails I've received asking about info on the Stanfields...
You may remember me posting about the Stanfield family (Here, in late January) when their son, Maddox was born prematurely (and passed away that same day). As of last night, Kenzie Stanfield is in the hospital, experiencing preterm labor with baby Faith.
Please, take the time to visit The Blog and leave a message of encouragement for them. I can't imagine what they've gone through and what they might be going through right now.

Wednesday Morning Update
Following her latest chemo treatment, Tricia received a shot that boosts her white blood cell count. Because of the shot, she has yet to feel much of her normal side effects (which would have kicked in Sunday/Monday). She has been tired, but not fatigued as normal. We're hoping she'll continue to feel well enough to participate in Saturday's events.
Meka wanted to say hello.

That's all.

Nominated For A Blog Award
I received an email tonight that says I've been nominated for a blog award at DivineCaroline.com. The winners (18 blogs will win) will each receive a $250 Visa Gift Card.
If I win (winners are announced in early December), I'll donate the gift card by buying and delivering $250 worth of toys to the local Toys for Tots (Mrs. Sandy Ferguson in Manteo, NC). Tricia and I have both donated and helped to deliver (to the homes of the families/children) toys through this great organization in the past, and it would be a blessing for us to participate again, especially with your help (and you can check with Sandy to make sure I've followed through)!
Click Here (or the badge below) to view the page where you can vote for CFHusband. To vote, you'll need to spend 30 seconds to sign up.
Thanks!
