Hey Nate its looking great!Little tip on hard to remove wall paper.
Get a squirt bottle put in have Downy Softner and hot water from the tap. Spray it on the paper let it sit till it soaks in. Then scrap it.
This worked on this hidious plastic wall paper we had in three rooms in this house we ware in now. Plus made plain wall paper a breeze to remove.
When the store..remover did nothing.
We just then washed the walls down with mild soap then primed and painted them.
A tip from an Uncle of mine who passed it our way.
Glad your feeling better and glad you have lots of help to get things ready.

I found your website when I was hospitalized at Duke for 6 weeks incubating. Though our son passed away in October, I am still encouraged by your family. We enjoy keeping up with your family's trials and joys.
I am working through my grief by taking down wallpaper in our 150 year old house. I am sure you will got lots of tips on how to remove wallpaper. I have heard them all and tried most. Find one that works for you! If you paint over the wallpaper you may get some areas that ripple/buckle up EVEN if you did several test patches to make sure that wouldn't happen. Unfortunately, it will then be almost impossible to get the painted over wallpaper down and you will have a big mess. This is why my 4 year old is currently sleeping in the guest room... Good luck. You have done a ton of work. Wish we had a crew like you do!

Just wondering if the paint and other various fumes from renovation will affect Tricia's new lungs?

Looks like you guys are getting stuff done quickly. That's great!

I hate popcorn ceilings - glad you got rid of those! What a pain...

The house is looking wonderful! You all are doing a fantastic job! I can't wait to see Miss Gwyneth's room. That is an adorable theme!

I did notice in your video that the hall bathroom has the toilet completely off the floor and in the tub. You may want to plug the toilet drain with a clean rag to keep the sewer gases from coming into the house. I'm looking out for you guys and don't want to see any of you get sick from the gases.

Have a marvelous week and thanks for the updates on you, Trisha, Gwyneth and the house! God's blessings to you 3 in your new home!

Yes, we did the Downy trick too and it worked very well. Makes the house smell purty, too. Love the all the changes. I am sure you are anxious to get moved in! I am so glad you have so much help!

Yup, the downy thing works on really stubborn wallpaper. I would share with you that I did that seal it and paint it maneuver in 1 room. Did about 9 different "test" patches and they were all fine. It ended horribly with an incredible mess that I ended up just having to sheet rock over because it could not be salvaged once the primer and paint was over the wallpaper. I wish I had heard about the downy thing then for sure! Hope it goes better for you trying to seal and paint it!! You sound like you are really suffering with your postnasal drip - I hate that choking mess with a cold - If you've never tried it, altoids peppermint gum helps cut that junk up in the back of my throat. Keep getting better and enjoy yourself with the renovations - good thing to take bunches of pics/videos - I wish I had done that in the kitchen.. I remember what a horror it was, but no 1 else seems to :o)

Its looking wonderful. I'm so thankful you are having so much help. It is hard and time consuming to do a project like that on your own. Take care of the cold and I look forward to seeing more updates.
May God Watch Over and Bless Each One of You Who Are Working in this Home to make it the Blessed Home He would Have for You.

Thanks Amy, but our house is pretty safe and sound, except for the relatively minor projects we're currently working on. We'll let Extreme Makeover help those who are really in need.
