She is so gorgeous, you guys. Congratulations on this wonderful moment.
And, by the way, seeing how small she is in your hands reminds me of how our Abba holds us close to Himself...we are so small and needy, and he just scoops us up and carries us.
Awesome!

Those are some of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen! Praise God! I think we will be weeping with joy and thankfulness all over the nation when we see Tricia and Gwyneth together like that. Gwyneth was originally due a few weeks before my first baby is, so I feel like your pictures give me a sneak peek at my own little miracle. Thank you SO much!

I have been following your blog for a couple weeks now and praying for your family but I have never posted a comment. I was so excited to see you doing "kangaroo care" with Miss Gwyneth when I check on you this morning. God is so good! After losing my 1st son last October due to prematurity and then giving birth to my miracle daughter in December I truly believe "kangaroo care" can do wonders for you both. My daughter was born at 36 weeks and stayed in the NICU for 1 week and we did kangaroo care nightly. It was the most wonderful experience and one that I have continued since she has come home. So glad to see you were finally able to hold her and I will comtinue to pray for continued progress with mom and baby :)

God Bless,
Melody

What a sweet day for you, Dad! These pictures are priceless!!! Congrats! I know Mom can't wait for her turn!! Praying for you and your girls!

Like mom, like daughter. Gwenyth is one tough, little bugger. Should make the "twos" and "teens" interesting, but after what you guys have been through, it'll be more than worth it! Your family's story is most inspiring....makes a person want to try harder and be braver. Thank you......

What a blessed little lady to have you for her Daddy.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww, so precious!! You and Gwyneth look so comfy and elated to be together. I'm sure more happy tears will be flowing from your eyes the more you get to do kangaroo care with Gwyneth and especially when Tricia finally is able to hold her lil girl for the first time. I hope that'll be very very soon!! You'll also have more teary moments throughout Gwyneth's life as she grows up! :-) Love the pixs and am so happy for you!

I will truly be even more impressed with you if you find words for it. I have had people ask me and I can never describe it. I usually just send them a picture. One that looks a lot like your last one. I look peaceful, teary, happy all in the same moment.

The first time I held my son, he melted into me. He slept the whole time we kangarooed, his heart rate dropped, his sats went up. I'm sure it did similar good things for me.

Congratulations!!! That is a moment you will surely never forget.

Nate & Tricia,
How amazing! I bet you wanted to stay there forever Nate!

This came to mind when I first saw the pix:

This is exactly how it is with Jesus. When we are broken, weary, sick, confused, grieve-struck, tramautized, whatever - Jesus just lovingly picks us up and carries us close to His heart till we are able to walk again.
This is exactly how our Wonderful Savior is carrying the Lawrenson family right now!
Continue to rest securely in His arms and listen to His heartbeat!
It's the heartbeat of Love for all mankind!
Leaping for Joy and declaring the Glories of the Lord on the Outer Banks!
We love you!

Beautiful! Every day when my husband comes home from work, he puts our 1 month old baby girl on his chest like that and I love it! Very special bonding time. I hope you gets LOTS more time like this in the coming weeks and months.

Praise the Lord for the news about the transplant! So exciting.

Just amazing. I've been lurking for awhile...but that one I get. My daughter was helicopter out and I was unable to hold her for 48 awful hours after she was born. I can't imagine waiting as long as you have as well as everything else you've gone through.
God is good. All the time. All the time. God is good.

Over joyed to see you hold Gwyenth! Absolutely adorable. Thank you for sharing your most precious moments w/ us. The look in your eye and seeing you look at her makes my heart leap for joy. Praise to our Lord Jesus, who makes all of this possible!

What a wonderful joy for you, at long last. I will never forget the moment I first got to hold each of our preemie triplets for kangaroo care, after such a long wait. The tears flowed, as my heart overflowed with joy. I'm so glad you get to help take care of her hands-on now! Way to go, Gwyneth! I hope and pray that Tricia may get to do the same before long.

Wow, Nate! Great pics! They gave me goosebumps! So, I guess you're still feeling pretty normal, huh? Not on cloud nine or anything????

When I looked at your beautiful pictures, I can’t help but think of the hymn, (I know some of them are really old, but this one is a still speaks volumes) “Because He Lives”, by Gaither. Here is the second verse and the chorus…

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy (s)he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!
Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!
