Tricia's Fever

Tricia has had a low-grade fever up and down over the past several weeks. It has not really affected her, and although the doctors have yet to figure it out, but it is probably a sign of an infection or bug somewhere. She's in a very unstable place as far as the possibility of getting an infection, etc. that could really set her back and cause serious issues.

Because of the "fever", she is still not allowed to see the baby, but they're hopefully coming up with a plan B.

She did get to go outside yesterday for the first time in 5 weeks, which was a great blessing and hopefully something that she can do more of.

Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers.

Nate

Praying for that fever - that the docs can figure out where it's coming from and get it taken care of.

Oh, getting outside after you haven't been for a while is SO great! And probably even moreso for Tricia, after having gone without a so much as a window for so long. (I hope she has a window now?!?)

Just thought I would say hi today. I got your link from a friend, and I've been following your story ever since (a few weeks). I adopted a child who was born at 24 weeks, 3 days....and he weighed 1 lb 4 oz. Unfortunately I didn't see him until about a week before he was dicharged, at that point weighing around 4 pounds (3 months old).I can't describe what a blessing this child has been to my life, he is now 12 years old, with only minimal effects from the prematurity.
Also, right now my husband and I are expecting our second baby girl, apparently about the same gestational age as Gwyneth. (tomorrow 28 weeks).
Your story is inspiring, and I've been praying for you and your girls...

Nate - I know everything that can be done is being done, but I can't help but pray that Tricia get to hold her precious child very soon. It just seems the energy generated between a mom and her baby can be miraculous - solve world peace even! :) Going outside, what a treat! Praying for no fever and snuggle time!

I have been reading for a few weeks now. I am a CFer as well, and I actually started reading during a 24 hospital stay that ended a week ago. Im so glad Tricia got to go outside, I know how it feels to be stuck in the hospital walls for awhile. I hope the fevers figure themselves out, I have unexplained fevers a lot. I am also starting the process of double lung/pancreas transplant.

There is a song called 'wires' by athletes that is about a premature baby. I wanted to tell you about it in case you haven't heard of it before.

Best wishes for your family...

Praying that the fever and the infection go away quick, fast and in a hurry like! Enjoy the fresh air, and I hope that you are able to get out and enjoy it as much as you want.

I hope that the doctors come up with an excellent plan b that will help tide you over until you can go in the NICU again. (But I am praying for the fever to go away so there is no need for plan b).

I love the picture of the two of you. You both look good!

Hugs and prayers to you all. Thank you as always for allowing us the pleasure of being a "part" of your lives.

Nate, Tricia, and Gwenyth,

We have been following you guys over the last 5 weeks. It is amazing to see how you guys are allowing God to get the glory. I wanted to let you know something to check in to. Our little boy came at 24 weeks. He is doing great. He is 11 years old. I wanted to run something by you guys. The social workers may already have this taken care of this but, Gwenyth should be able to recieve SSI due to being born early. Have them check in to it. I can't remember if we got it while in the hosptial or after we came home. Glad to see things are going well. Tricia, you truly are a angel and miracle God is using in so many lives.

OUTSIDE!!! So very happy for you. I have to say that seeing how much medical equipment Tricia had to haul along gives me a new appreciation for what's going on. Less seriously, when I first looked at the photo, especially of Tricia's left shoulder, I thought, whoa, that is one fuzzy hospital gown. Then I realized it was hubby's ARM AROUND HER SHOULDERS.

Tricia and Nathan,

Praise God for another good day! We're so glad you got to enjoy the outdoors, and you look WONDERFUL, Tricia!! Allison smiled at your photo and said, "Look, she's already wearing her cute headbands again!" This was the perfect photo to go with the Love Story you've been telling. You guys are SO cute together!!

Your White Rose is absolutely precious!! The new photos are amazing, and her little features are so PERFECT! We loved her little hands grasping the equipment!

We'll be praying specifically for Tricia's fever/infection to subside, and for strength and healing for both girls.

Yay for getting outside! I'm glad the weather is nice for you to enjoy!
And I like Gwyneth's bangs. Good deal on the hair.
Alex (my 2 year old) saw the pics and kept saying "Danica need a breathing treatment?" I wish they had used something like that on my preemie's face for a little while to be nicer to her skin. I'm glad they have something for that for you.
We'll be praying about the fever- for the Dr's to figure it out and that it goes (and stays) away- soon!
