Safe and Sound

We've kept most of the video of Gwyneth for our own private viewing pleasure, but we just had to share this one. The song is "Safe and Sound" by Matthew West.

I agree with what so many others have expressed. That is the most moving video I have ever seen in my entire life. I am dehydrated from all the tears I have shed today. The song was so perfect.

I praise the Lord for all these miracles he is performing in your lives. Thank you for sharing them with us. My faith will never be the same.

Nate & Tricia- Thanks for allowing me to catch a glimpse of your life. Your daughter is beautiful, but I'm sure you know that! :) Before I was linked to Nate's blog I had not prayed in months...okay...a year at least. I walked away....the further I walked the harder prayer became. Ever since I clicked your link, my desire to be close to Christ has grown. Thanks for reminding me that it's not so hard to pray.

God Bless!!

Thank you so much for sharing that with us when you didn't have to. Never thought I would be sitting here with tears rolling down my cheeks when I don't know you or even live in your state! One day when Gwyneth is a little girl, I would love to come to your church on vacation and see you and her and Tricia, all happy and healthy! I live in Bethlehem, PA but would love to come down for vacation and stop by!

It never crossed my mind until now, that our tears that God keeps in a bottle (Psa. 56:8) may not be the ones that came from our own eyes! Maybe they're the tears that others have shed for us. Just a thought. ...

Reading the comments to this video make me think that the tears shed for your family are measured in TONS, not gallons!

And I'm so grateful to be among your pray-ers ... and tear-shedders!

You bring me to tears- good tears- every day because I am watching, through you, that your precious daughter and wife are making it against all odds. Still praying for you in CA!

That is absolutely beautiful and something that you will treasure your entire life. I look back at pictures of me holding my baby in those very same chairs at Duke Hospital and it seems like a lifetime ago, and it was only 18 months ago...of course there will still be struggles ahead, but my, oh my, what an amazing gift your daughter is. And I can see just how much love she is receiving from so many! God bless you all!

Nate-
Isn't technology amazing? I watched your video and not only am I awestruck at the capabilities modern medicine has to sustain Gwyneth, but also soon transplant healthy lungs for Tricia. What I'm very thankful for, obviously on a much smaller scale, is the fact that you now have a video memory of these special moments with your baby girl. I know you will treasure these amazing images for a lifetime! What a beautiful thing!

Nathan and Tricia,

Thank you for sharing this deeply personal moment with us. Your little girl is beautiful.

I love the song, Nathan. I love the thought of God holding each of us "safe and sound" like a parent holds a child. What a beautiful image of such a loving Father. And just think, as much as we love our children, our Heavenly Father loves us EVEN MORE!

I pray that Tricia gets to hold her REAL SOON!!

i had brain surgery in december (i'm 22) so have lots of time to just rest... was going back through your blog to see how you got to where you are now... and saw this video. it was touching at the beginning, but when you started talking, i started crying. and what you said at the end made me completely lose it.

continuing to pray for you. i've read your blog occasionally before but until now haven't been able to ge the full idea of everything you've written. as i'm sure you're aware, when you're recovering from major surgery, all you can really do is rest... and being the age i am, my MacBook is a good friend. :-P

thanks for sharing.
