Hands On A Miracle

Before you view the slideshow below, please read the following.

This slideshow contains pictures of an incredibly small baby in intensive care isolation. Lots of tubes and IV's and strange machines, etc. Parents may want to preview first.

Please, note the following physical traits as you watch:

> The Lawrenson bowed legs.
> The Tricia ears (Tricia was adopted).
> The Lawrenson double chin.
> The Tricia nose.
> The Lawrenson flat-out good lookingness.
> The Tricia/Nathan hairyness.

The final picture is of Tricia and I just before they took her to the OR.

Now that you've watched once, watch again and listen closely to the words...pretty sure it was written for us.

Tricia and Gwyneth both look good, but each have a long road ahead. Tricia especially needs all the love and prayer you can spare tonight and tomorrow...this will be the toughest 24 hours of her life.

I promise to have so much more to write about tomorrow.

God, please keep my babies safe in your arms tonight.

Nate

Tears as I read about your precious family..although I don't know you I feel connected to you through my 1 lb. 9 oz little girl who will be two in March! The Lord is AMAZING and I am praying he gives you, daddy, a certain strength encompassed by a heart full of peace. I am praying He gives your sweet wife, mommy, rest and healing! I ask our Creator to give your precious little one the spunk and vigor a preemie needs to thrive! May she bless your life as you are using this opportunity to proclaming the Lord's goodness to others!

bring good news,

LOVE IS BREATHING
(song by Sarah Mason after the birth of her first child. Seems more than appropriate for Tricia's beautiful, beautiful child):

life’s come out from inside
all caught up in a brand new smile
A L I V E
love’s come out from inside
carefully, WILLINGLY
and you are alive so alive
LOVE IS BREATHING LIKE A CHILD COME OUT
life suspended in the gravity of care
never ending does the child come out
HOPE'S COME OUT FROM INSIDE
AND WE ARE ALL CAUGHT UP
trying to hide
but YOU ARE ALIVE, more alive
LOVE IS BREATHING like a child come out
life suspended in the gravity of care
never ending does the child come out
you’re more alive when you try
growing down, enter the kingdom!, child
move the buildings to the fire
and color our most desperate cries with ease, please, child
Love is breathing like a tree on fire, consuming violent
and tender life
LOVE IS BREATHING...ALIVE...BREATHING

God bless and keep Gwyneth Rose and her brave, godly mommy.

How often does a person get to start there day off watching a miracle?
God is awesome! Your babies and you will be covered in prayer today by me and those that love you or have come to love you all around the world.
A couple of those slides look like they were taken after we left yesterday.
I opened my Bible to read this morning and currently I'm in the book of Psalm. I was in chapter 8 this morning and I think this is really cool:

O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
From the lips of children and infants
you have ordained praise
because of your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger v. 1-2

For those that the "foe" has duped into thinking their is no God. Gwyneth Rose, all 1 lb 6 oz of her has silenced the "foe" this morning. Just take a moment and look at the miracle, and you will see God.

Love you guys!

My children, husband and I were glued to the updates yesterday. I saw the video late last night and just had a chat with my 6yo before showing it to him. We talked about how God forms these miraculous babies in their mothers womb. I explained how early Gwyneth was born and how tiny she would be in the video. He had tears in his eyes as he watched with me. He commented on how beautiful she was, asked questions about some of the tubes and equipment, but was never afraid. I started to explain that we need to keep praying to "remind" God to keep forming her even though she is outside of her mommy. He looked at me with the sheer innocence of a child and said, "Mom, God, KNOWS that. We don't need to remind him." Okay maybe I should have picked a better word, but I'm human and don't have all the answers. But as this 6yo sweetheart just reminded me, God does have those answers and I will continue to pray and give my thanks to him for all the wondrous miracles he is performing all around us.

Hands on a miracle
I got my hands on a miracle
Believe it or not
Hands on a miracle
And there ain't no way I'll let you take it away

Everything that we've survived
It's gonna be alright
Just lucky we're alive
Got no vision
I've been blind
Searching everywhere
You're right there in my sight

Well Nate, I'm sitting here in tears. She is absolutely beautiful. There are no words to descibe the miracle she is. I used to see pictures like this and as a mother, I could barely stand to see it. It was too much to handle. But as I watched your video and your little girl, I watched in wonder and in joy. I kept thinking, "She's alive! She's alive!" and it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Too see those perfectly formed hands, feet, face, legs, tiny, tiny fingers brought so much joy to my heart. She made it into this world and is doing well. How can my heart not leap for joy!? She is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I am praying for you, Tricia and Gwyneth and our church is praying for you guys, too. I'd like to show your video to our church if it's ok with you and Tricia. She is BEAUTIFUL!!! And so tiny. I prayed for a long time last night for your family. In fact, you all took up 3 pages in my prayer journal. When I turned my radio on last night as I was getting ready for bed, God let me hear the perfect song to let me know everything was going to be okay for you. It's a popular song that you probably know. Part of it goes like this, "You are God alone, in the good times and bad, You are on your throne, You are God alone." God is watching over your family. Congratulations on a beautiful baby girl.

Have been really touched by the story of your precious family. There is a long road ahead for all of you, but my prayers are with you that God keeps blessing you with these miracles.

God bless your wonderful family. My twins spent a lot of extra time in their cribs this morning as I was glued to your blog. You were such an encouragement for me all day. I will keep you in my prayers. Our God is Sovereign! And he loves your Tricia and Gwyneth even more than you do. In my own life, that is impossible for me to comprehend. God Bless All Of You!
