Next Big Hurdle

I spoke with Tricia's primary CF doctor. Tricia is exactly where he expected her to be. The next big hurdle, which is taking place right now, is to ween Tricia off of the paralytic drug with the hopes that Tricia's lungs will begin breathing with the ventilator. They will know within the next few hours.

If that is successful, they will begin to ween her off of the sedative to wake her.

Pray right now that her lungs respond well. Also, her CO2 level is extremely high....not life-threatening, but not safe long-term.

Here's a picture of her vent.

Thank you!

Nate

Continually praying for healing and strength for Tricia and Gwyneth. Thank you so much for keeping the updates coming. It helps to know specifically what to pray for. Praying now that Tricia's lungs will work with the ventilator so she can be weened off the paralytic, that she will not be stressed or uncomfortable, that she will grow stronger by the minute!

Here's the lyrics to the song on the video:

Crazy, but I believe this time
Begging for sweet relief
A blessing in disguise
I'm dying behind these tired eyes
I've been losing sleep
Please come to me tonight

Hands on a miracle
I got my hands on a miracle
Believe it or not
Hands on a miracle
And there ain't no way I'll let you take it away

Everything that we've survived
It's gonna be alright
Just lucky we're alive
Got no vision
I've been blind
Searching everywhere
You're right there in my sight

Oh Nate, to think of that tiny baby and the fact that your wife hasn't even seen her yet is just so heart wrenching. Let alone the fact that they are both so extremely vulenerable.
I will pray, I will pray for all of you.
I hope it is of some comfort to you that so many people all over the world are praying for your two beautiful girls.

Nate,
Here are the words from an old song your great-grandmother sang to your grandmother when she was a little girl. She wrote out the words with a little adaptation.

"Mighty Like a Rose"
Sweetest little baby
everybody knows
Don't know what to call her,
but she's mighty like a Rose.

Lookin' at her mommy
with eyes so shiny blue
Makes you think that heaven
is comin' close to you.

When she's there a'sleepin'
in her little place
thinks I see the angels
peekin' through the lace.

When the dark is fallin'
And the shadows creep
then they comes on tiptoe
to kiss her in her sleep

Sweetest little baby
everybody knows.
Don't know what to call her,
but she's mighty like a rose.

I don't know you, but isn't it a profound thing to serve a God that burdens your heart for complete strangers? You are all in my prayers today.
