Day Off

In honor of Leap Year (or is it Leap Day?), I'm taking this extra day off from blogging to spend extra time with my family (I will update with major news).

I encourage you to use this extra day to something extra special for somebody you love, and then tell us about it here.

Thanks!

Nate

Good for you! My husband is taking the "extra" day off so we can have some "extra" time together, which we need. Enjoy your day with your lovely girls!

I am off to buy my husband his first guitar today, I choose it yesterday and will hopefully collect it today :)

We also tend to always take the extra day off as it marks the anniversary of our first day spent together (12 years and 3 kids ago)

enjoy the day with your girls

prayers as always

I will be spending the afternoon with Abbey and will join her at her graduation from Wright Flight -
OH NO that means I have to get in an airplane with her - those things are very very very small not to mention that she will be flying it!!!!

I plan on doing what I do everyday. Take care of babies and teaching 3 and 4 year olds how to read. We have one baby that was born the day before Gwyneth. Can you imagine Gwyneth in child care?

Great news about Gwyneth!! Enjoy the day off. I really liked the post about the things you miss! It would make a good country song if there was such a thing!! You may not be a Dr. or play one on TV but it sounds like you stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night! We are praying for you and hope you have a great leap day!

I am going out of town and won't have access to a computer. I have been a little sad knowing that I was going to miss my Natriciagwyn (its like nutrition and oxygen for your heart, soul and spirit!) And yes, I have dubbed you with a celebrity name but it's all in love and fun! But now that I know you are going to take a day off and I won't miss as much, I am a little happier. So I am going to go have a wonderful time with my husband, who also feeds my heart soul and spirit, and hope that you have lots of happy, wonderful moments to share when I get home.

BTW...my baby (okay, she's 13 now, but she still lets me call her my baby) and I have a song, I Knew I Loved You by Savage Garden. Someone had already suggested it in your contest so I didn't post anything. Everytime I hear that song, (it's my daughter's ringtone) I now think of Tricia and Gwyneth (and my baby too!). The lyrics are...'I knew I loved you before I met you, I think I dreamed you into life'...and 'I had been waiting all my life', I am sure you know the song.

Thank you for always lifting my spirits and giving me inspiration!

Stephanie

Have a great day "off". I actually took the day off from teaching 3rd graders to go and pick up a friend from the airport - one that I haven't seen for nearly 7 years - she is coming for a visit and I'm excited to see her and reconnect!

Hope your day with your loves is wonderful!

Our day will be pretty typical for us. My three daughters (4, 3 & 16mos) will be playing and laughing and loving each other all day long....and apparently 'playing tattoos', as my 3yo just requested. :)

Always praying for you....

I know Gwyneth is a bit too young for this, but I put together a page of fun froggy links: desserts, mask, orgami, crafts, worksheets for kids, and online articles and activities. We'll be at our zoo's leap day celebration for The Year of the Frog, dressed in green with our amphibian ark frog masks. Can you tell that I'm a homeschool mom? :^)

We are celebrating our son's 3rd REAL birthday today. In other words, he is 12 today. Where does the time go?

By the way... last year, he was a very sick young man (6 surgeries in 11 months). It seemed every time we turned around, we were heading back to the hospital. Today, he is healed, healthy, and we are all more grateful for this gift of life. I pray the same grace and strength for you and your girls. Enjoy this moment!

Well, while I don't have anything exciting planned for today, I am thankful for today because I finally can't say "well, a year ago today I was..." Which is NICE!!! So, here's to a new day and new beginnings.

Can't wait to hear the big news!

Happy Leap Day! I posted this on my blog, but I wanted to share it.
Leap Year/Day reminds me of Frogs (my daughter's fav. thing in the world) Frog stands for FULLY RELY ON GOD. My special thing to do today? Having my dog, Daisy,Groomed :) I know you love animals so I thought I'd share that.

Nate, today I am praying for my best friend who is going through colon surgery. The biospy showed no cancer, so we are praying that there is no unexpected news as the day progresses. Hope you and your girls have a great day together. The pictures of you and Gwyneth are just adorable. Brenda

Today is "Crazy Hair Day" at school, so we started the morning making spiked hair like a stegosaurus for my son, and silly ponytails all over for my daughters - they look like cocker spaniels with long floppy ears and tails. The whole school is smiling today!

Tonight our family is going out to a Juke Box Mania night, a fundraiser for our city's Family Services bureau which provides social work and counselling support to families and troubled youth. We get to relax at tables with good friends, eat pizza, and play "name that tune" music trivia games, listening to old favourites from the 50's to the 90's, played by a band of workers and clients from Family Services. It's a fun event for kids, teens and adults. Good fun, for a good cause!

I'll be spending the day turning our house into a princess castle for our 6 year old's princess birthday party tomorrow. Frilly dresses, makeup, crowns, glitter and sparkles....oh, what fun awaits you Nate! And I will continue to pray that you and Tricia have many princess parties with Gwyneth in your future.

Hi I hope you have a blessed day!

Today I will be knee deep in grant applications...so fun. We are adopting a little guy(our second adoption)from Africa. He is almost 4 months old! He has a ton of special needs, severe cleft lip, missing left leg, eye condition, missing fingers, toes etc. We think he is the cutest little guy! Anyway to make a long story short...I am filling out grant applications. We would LOVE to have you stop by and read about William. I know you are very busy though! Here is his sight:

Today I will be working and then heading down to visit my dear sister. She is 25, has MS and has been in the hospital this week for plasma exchange. I am anxious to see her with my own eyes and get the update. She is a fighter just like your girls. Praying for your girls as much as I pray for my girl!

I know it is totally lame but I actually went to the grocery store alone today. Maybe that is the reason I went way over my grocery budget for the week.

I hauled out our snowblower and cleared our driveway for my husband, who works 2 jobs so I can be a SAHM to our 5 kids.

I used this day to pray and pray for some friends of ours. They were told 6 weeks ago that their baby boy that they were carrying would not live after he was born. Then, last week, they were told he might be just fine. She went to her doctor's appointment today and he wasn't doing as well and they did a C-Section. Asher is here, 2 lbs 8 oz and 14 inches. He could use your prayers, too. I posted a little more on my blog and will keep updating.

My husband I celebrated our mom's and my father in-law birthday's tonight by making a really nice homemade dinner. We then topped the evening off with really good pie and Talladega Nights.

Eli got to pick out a Diego toy of his very own at the store after getting his new shoes. And we went by the church to help out with the Youth yard sale, where Eli had a chance to play with his friend LeeR. And we ended the night with dinner at our favorite Chinese buffett. Now we're all curled up and about to head on to bed.

Hope you've had a good leap day. Keeping y'all in our prayers.

I am husbandless for a few days but I had the privilege of waking up next to my nine year old (gulp) son this morning. He has never slept with us but I made the offer last night and he jumped at it. Of course he woke up way too early but we had a decent conversation at 5:59 am. Too bad I don't remember any of it! :)
